I read on the Toffeeweb listserv that James Beattie got the crap knocked out of him by some hooligans in Birmingham. I can't find any links to substantiate this. Does anyone know what's going on or why it's being kept under wraps if it's true?

These folks were Gallas' mercenaries (AKA-russian mafia). That ought to teach him not to headbutt Chelsea players. :D

and get his hands dirty :eek: Surely it's not a job for a Chelsea player.
But i can just see this: News report from London Times: "William Gallas decided to skip Chelsea practice yesterday, due to "personal" issues. Despite Mourinho begging him not to travel to Northen England, Gallas said it's too late, since he threw the glove down and challenged James Beattie to a duel in a nightclub. That night, the bystanders in the nightclub saw Beattie charge Gallas like a bull, (Beattie later admitted that Gallas wore all red to provoke him), when couple of huge guys in leather jackets with hammer and sickle logos came out of nowhere and kicked the crap of of Beattie. Gallas said he didn't know who these people were and the next morning took the train back to London. Upon arrival to London, Gallas was seen being b\tch slapped by Morinho. No gloves were left at the scene of slapping.
