You mean, the guy who panicked and brought Luis Hernandez on in the 27th minute against the US in the WC as the "answer"?
Best coach in my mind means did more with less than anybody else--and that means Bruce Arena (to Q-finals) and Primi Maradiaga.
We'll have to wait and see, but if Cheche Hernandez takes Panama to WC06, he has to be up there.

I was torn between Arena and Maradiaga... They have both turned around their respective National Teams....

No, i mean the one that saved Osasuna from relegation, in La Liga. I seriously doubt mr arena will ever coach in spain, or any other prestigious league in europe for that matter.

Being that this thread is about the best coach in Concacaf in the last 10 years, then without a shadow of a doubt the title goes to Manuel Lapuente. Runner up goes to Velibor Bora Milutinovic and his good run in world cups. The bronze i reserve for the Bruce who has helped shaped the yanks into one of the regions best.. .

I thought you guys meant best coach now. I would think Hugo Sanchez, look at all the things he has won with Pumas in the past year. But you refer to past 10 years, you have definately have a good argument.

Can there be any doubt? Look at how Bruce Arena has taken the US from an average CONCACAF team to top team in the region. (Sorry, Mexico, but sometimes the truth is hard to accept.) When Bruce started, we were still beating the bushes in Europe for guys with US citizenship. Now there's solid depth everywhere with a steady stream of new talent. A lot of the improvement is because of MLS. But Bruce has learned to work with both the MLS and European players. He's gained their respect and has them all playing the same game. He even handled the work stoppage with class. The fact that he's kept his job while most of the other coaches have come and gone should say it all.

Bruno Arena no doubt...
While Maradiago turned Honduras around he still couldn't get them to play consistent soccer AT HOME, and didn't get them to the World Cup.

While this is clearly opinion, I have to ask -- which CONCACAF coach in the last 35 years has got his team into the World Cup quarterfinals without being at home?

In addition to his amazing run with the USMNT let us not forget Bruce Arena won 2 MLS titles, 1 CONCACAF Champions Cup, (the international cup vs. Vacso) while coach of DC United.

Best club coach would be Hugo Sanchez. He's done an excellent job with pumas. If he ever gets the Mexican National Team job yank fans should watch out. I'd say Bruce Arena is the best national team coach.
