4-4-2 runs a bit ("Sing When You're Winning") every issue on this subject, with an interview with a celeb. This month they had a feature on Steve Cram who is a Sunderland supporter.

I was more curious about the smaller clubs-any "local boy made good" who you now see in the stands every once in a while?

I wouldn't say local boy done good, but when I went to see Blackburn v. United at OT Jack Straw the Uk foreign secretary was in our tier. His constituency is Blackburn.

For Futbol Club Barcelona:

Jose Carreras (one of the three tenors..the "other guy" as Seinfeld noted)

Aranxa(spelling?) Sanchez Vicario (famous tennis star)

Carlos Moya (male tennis star)

The current Prime Minister of Spain (can't remember his name but he deposed Aznar's government in last year's elections)...this doesn't bode well for Barça fans who want to argue that Real Madrid are the government's team.. :D

There are much, much more.....

For FC Basel it's probably Roger Feder, world tennis #1.

And he's a real fan, not some "let's say i'm a fan of this club, so people will like me more"-celeb. He never sits in the VIP section, but always in sector D, just above the standing terrace where the hardcore fans are.

A bit thin on the ground for Forest.
Richard Bacon - Presenter
Su Pollard - TV 'personality'
Lee Westwood - Golfer
James Dean Bradfield (Manic Street Preachers) and Fran Healey (Travis) are also alleged to be fans but I'm sure Healey's an Old-Firm fan.

Billy Duffy (The Cult) is often spotted at Man City games with his dad and I've seen him wearing their shirts on stage.
Ian Astbury is a Toffees fan, going so far as to sub-title a B-side 'Goodison Park Shuffle' and yell 'We are Top of the league, say we are top of the league' at the Reading Festival a couple of years back.
