They're the same thing. They are still made by Apple and comes with the same software, etc, but come with different logos on the back.

The biggest difference is where you get your support. If you buy from Apple, you get Apple support, natch. Though Apple seems to be phasing out the regular iPods in favor of iPod Photo and iPod mini.

Is there any difference in cost? I had a G3 15 gig that I really liked, but it was stolen. I'm trying that free iPods thing, because I can get a 20 gig, which is the closest to what I had previously. Plus it's free:D

They're both $300 for 20 gigs and I think they both have free shipping.
