HAHA. Got your attention?

I've got a question. Since La Bombonera has such a good home atmosphere - witnessed in the psychological boost Boca gets when it plays there - why does Argentina not play home games there? Not that you guys don't support your team when it plays at Nunez, but you know what I mean? Can't you guys alternate? What's the deal here?

Oh, OK.

but still, I think most teams would be a bit unnerved playing your NT in La Bombonera. Nunez is loud - as is every large, conventional stadium - but I imagine it doesn't match La Bombonera's sheer potential for noise.

Good point Century

Me being a River fan I would also like to see Argentina play in different stadiums being la bombonera,Jose Almafitani which is Velez Sarsfield's stadium not a bad seat in the house. Also have Rosario Centrals stadium,Newells last champion has remodeled their home and looks outstanding and more capacity then before. Not to mention one of my favorites is Estadio Malvinas Argentina in Mendoza aswell with the estadio mundialista Mar del Plata.

Devilman said right, its question about the money and capacity even though the number of capacity he has mentioned about el Monumental is way off, maybe in the 80s and early 90s they would be able to fit in that many people. But fifa has recomended to limit the capacity to 65.000 from what it used to be 70.000 + do to security reasons.Dont get me wrong if it was game that meant alot like a last game to qualify to a wc or something they wont care and let in as much possible to support the national team and to really make the away team really feel away.Only time I saw Rivers stadium over 85.000 fans was against America de Cali in both finals of the Copa Libertadoes in 86 and 96.

Last time Argentina played in la boca was vs Colombia for the 98 WC, Argentina already qualified, game was scheduled to be played in Nuņez was changed at last moment for I dont know what reason, ended up playing in bocas stadium which I thought it was a kool ideal, despite the game ended in a draw 1-1.

Too be honest with you I really dont like el rojos stadium its just too deformed. One section behind the goal is covered the other side for the visitors is just too plain, sucks if it rains thats for sure,as for the stands on the side one side has an upper level and the other doesnt, like wtf were they thinking when building that thing?!

Racings stadium is alot better in every aspect.

Just my .02 cents

It's Unique that's what makes it cool , doesn't mean that it can't host a big venue , but Leo when it rains at any stadium at any game doesnt it suck?? I mean if you were at Nunez watching your beloved River and it happend to rain wouldnt it suck???

Yes Xeneize Salta's stadium is cool too ,all my friends are Saltenos....

Yes lol your right about being unique,I just think its ugly as hell, I mean dont get wrong I would still go that stadium, that being the only one left of the big teams I need to see a game at.Its that its old as hell and it has too much history. It would be nice to if they remodeled it,look at Racings or even Newells. But like you mentioned its unique and thats what makes it different then the rest of them.

Yeah and ive gotten rainned on a few times in el Gallinero ;-)

you have to tell the true story...argentina before 1970, play the world cup preliminary rounds (eliminatorias) in the bombonera..but peru eliminated them for the world cup in mexico...since then argentina play in the river plate field (they played in the bombonera in 1997 against colombia but that was because 4 years before the loose 0-5 in nuņez...we (southamericans are very supersticious) :(
