Are you refering to Carroll's bobbling of Crespo's shot or his howler against Lyon a couple months ago?

it was big supprise for me.. while MU were playing well

the shot from seadof was straight to him, but bla bla etc... can not hold it

I guess it does not matter. He also forgot about the Spurs' one. ( Who can forget that one?! ) I think in the summer we might need a keeper. All depends how Howard plays IMO.

Is Howard screwed? It seems to me that MUtd is going to sign a keeper no matter how good Howard plays, and that this keeper will cost enough to be the presumptive starter as well. Furthermore, because they need a backup keeper, there's no way Howard can be traded to a team that will give him the chance to start, which IMHO is the only way his game is going to develop so that his mental errors (which are mostly applied technique) vanish and he reaches his potential.

Actually, we'll probably need two. Ricardo's on his way out. And it's looking unlikely Carroll will re-sign. Maybe Luke Steele will step up as a #3?

I actually forgot about Ricardo. Carroll can go ahead and mess some other club if somebody really wants him. I have been waiting to see Steele for a while. Heard he is not that bad.

Luke Steele has been pretty poor for Coventry. I think he is going to be let go too.
I think Carroll is also gone but Howard may be around a little bit longer.
I also think that we will sign a keeper from another league as the EPL keepers who would be available will not be any better than Carroll or Howard.

Good points. My thought on Steele was that he was still young enough that he'd have some more time. Good to see that young German being signed. It'll be interesting to see if we're talking about that kid in 5 years.

Anything's possible in the summer. Saints may get relegated and be looking to part with Niemi (whos' been injured and had a so-so year). Rovers may be willing to ditch Friedel for a bit of cash dpending on what Hughes has planned. I wouldn't say that it won't be a keeper from England. But I have a hard time seeing any of those guys being another more than someone to come in for a year or three.

Howard's probably deciding his future right now. My impression is that the Man Utd gk coach, Tony Coton, is very enamored of Howard. I think he sees Howard's obvious talent. Ferguson, naturally, cares a lot more about results than whether there's a great talent lurking in Howard. If Howard plays well the rest of the season, my guess is Howard will be given a shot to keep the position next year.

I actually think the best thing that could happen to Howard would be to be loaned out. Still under contract to a huge club, but with some time to iron out his problems without all the pressure. Maybe a year long loan to a newly promoted team, or something.
