Didn't Hargreaves reject Spurs when Bayern wanted to offload him recently?
I could see Hargreaves making a move to Liverpool.

I say let him go... make room for Deisler to play more or Schweiny

hmmmmm??? Hargreaves is a better at neutralizing opponents in the midfield than the other two

Or anyone else in Europe for that matter. I've never seen anyone shut down Henry and Ronaldo like he has in the CL. He is very valuable to this team and has been in good form. Let's hold off on letting him for now.

I like Owen, it may be my English hertitage coming through but he is one of those players who can really perform. Like when other teams think Munich they see Deisler and Ballack and Ze and Lucio and Makaay. This leaves players like Pizarro and Owen and Kovac in a spot to really play well. Owen can shutdown an attacking midfielder-he did it to Marcellino in Berlin. He would do it to Viera if he played. He is solid and great teams are made of solid players. Oh yea and lets not forget that he is only 24.

Not discrediting his abilities... I personally like him as well, but his ability to man-mark players seems to be his "one thing". True the other two are more attack oriented (Deisler, Schweiny), but in light of Martin Demichelis's arrival, are Owen's days numbered?? I mean, he wants to leave for the premiership anyways, right?

He never shut down Henry, Sagnol and Lucio were the heroes the last game. All Hargreaves did as a subsitute was run around like a pansy.
I agree that Hargreaves is a very good man-marker but his agendas concerns me especially in big matches.
I would rather see him go, as his heart lies in England.

I think SirManchester ment the Arsenal games in 2001 (1:0H and 2:2A).

This is exactly my point. Find someone whose agenda is to BE AT BAYERN. Besides, aside from marking someone out of the game, what else does he offer? Brazzo and Deisler are better going forward. Demichelis is better all-around in the defensive mid spot. Frings and Ballack aren't going to be replaced. Scholl is Scholl = God. Plus, with Liza and Sagnol back, and Brazzo and Frings ability to fill in those roles with no problems, we don't need him at outside back anymore. And lastly, the kiss of death... Schweinsteiger is loaming in the wings.
All in all, Owen's Munich stock is declining and his heart lies in England. As Boxes said... adios. Free up the room for Huth, Podolski, Rysicky (sp?), or ______(insert your choice of replacement here), whomever... but someone who wants to be here.

Maybe I missed it, but when has Owen said he wanted back in the Premiership?? I remember the rumors coming out around the 2002 World Cup, but its been pretty mute since then. Maybe I'm reading the wrong news stories.

This summer Bayern had some bids from other clubs, but they couldn't agree on a transfer fee. Hoeneß wanted at leats 10m €.

Lord, how did I miss that!!
I'd sell him for 7m.

Oh I would not sell him for less than 15 mil, especially to an english club, lets not forget that the "Home grown rule" says that a player had to be with the club for 3 years between 15 and 21. He came from Canada when he was 16-so Owen counts. I think we can all agree that at least on the domestic level he is a solid player. I know KHR and the Kaiser want to limit the team a little but UEFA has given us quotas to meet. A solid home-grown, EU national- I think he should stay, unless we a ridiculous amount for him. But even then I haven't seen a player in that could replace him that we have played this year. Let's not forget that the board likes to go after players that have performed well against us in the past. This season, we have not met the Ballack, Makaay, or Ze that we have in season's past. We are good now. Let's solidify our good players and give them the opprutunity to retire in Red.

Well Ze might be leaving in the summer, so it makes since to keep the lad. Ahh, the joys of having a team with midfield depth!

I also agree that Hargreaves is dispensible. He has been a loyal servent for Bayern since his youth team days, but now it is obvious he wants to play in the Premiership, where he can get better exposure for the national team.
I agree that having quality coming off the bench is necessary for a top team, but right now, we have Ballack, Frings, Deisler, Hargreaves, Ze Roberto, Brazzo, Demichelis, and Schweinsteiger all fighting for a place in a 4 man midfield. That is a lot of top-class players to keep happy with playing time. Ballack is almost assured a spot, so it's 7 fighting for 3 spots. I think Hargreaves would rather get regular first team football in England than start 1 out of 3 games for Bayern.

That's really helped Wright-Phillips, hasn't it?? Its a travesty that kid doesn't start for them every match.

His heart lies in England!!!!, sorry but our heart doesn't lie with him, what with his canadian accent and his americanism's when talking about the game, although his parents are english, he's a canuck plain and simple. Playing for England seems like a flag of convenience, seeing how poor Canada are.
Not only is the English league now a goldmine for foreign talent without many young english players being brought through (Arsenal!), we have canadians playing in the national team!!
