Everton are poised to win the race for Cambridge United's highly-rated goalkeeper John Ruddy.
The Premiership club have agreed a fee with their League Two counterparts for the teenage shot-stopper.
Ruddy will now head to Goodison Park for talks about a transfer on Monday after being given permission to discuss his departure from The Abbey Stadium.
Cambridge have not disclosed details of the transfer fee but confirmed they had spent the week haggling with Everton.
If Ruddy concurs on personal terms with The Toffees, he will officially complete his switch when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
In the interim, the 18-year-old would spend two days a week training with Everton while continuing to play for Cambridge.
Ruddy has established himself as Cambridge's first choice this season and he has caught the eye of several big clubs.
Arsenal and Newcastle United have expressed interest in the past, while Liverpool, Middlesbrough and Wigan Athletic have also been linked with the youngster.
Earlier this season, Ruddy spent a fortnight training with Manchester United, who have been monitoring his progress.
With Cambridge confirming a deal has been struck with Everton, it now remains to be seen if any of the other interested parties move in with a bid.
