Holy mother of crap. My 18yo is only a solid! Ok stupid advice time. Chuck my 18yo and start training over again with the 17yo, or just stick it out with the 18yo and sell my pull?

Maybe you could loan one to me? My keepers are both in shite form right now.
Seriously though.. the 17 yr old is probably worth more to sell right now, but is obviously a bit better as a trainee. Although based on TSI, he's just barely Solid and your other trainee is only a couple weeks from popping to excellent.

I'd stick with the 18yo, it would be a waste to sell him now and always a TS risk. The 17yo would fetch a nice price still early enough in the season...

Although based on TSI, he's just barely Solid and your other trainee is only a couple weeks from popping to excellent. If I'm doing my math properly, if I stuck with the 18yo, barring injuries I'll have an Outstanding 19yo. Then his time to pop will go up to 7 weeks a level.
If I go with the 17yo, I'd have an 18yo formidable with a pop probably 4 weeks afterwards. His time to pop would still stay at 6 weeks a level however.
I have the option to use both, but my 20yo Outstanding will have at least one or two more pops by the end of the season, and he will sell for a fat sack of cash.

I'd sell him and continue on with your training as normal. This guy could fetch $500k+ with current market conditions.
