...and who brought Real Sociedad to the Champions League.
Yeah, I remember that time when they almost snatched title away from the mighty Real Madrid side..
Btw what's up with Boloni? Is he unhappy or what?

That would be mutual then since the Rennes staff and some of the players are quite fed up with his difficult temper. On the other hand Monaco was sincerely interested in hiring him to 'grow' their new squad of young players. I think the Bölöni cycle was over at SRFC with the end of this group.
I havent heard anything about Monterrubio leaving but if I were to to bet I would say that he stays.
It's a rumour I read on staderennais-online (unofficial), he might even leave for...Monaco. He's still the leader in the assist tally this year, so that somewhat makes him interesting.

See ? I'm only the resident Rennes specialist by default ! :D
I don't know much about the CFA team ; so, while you're there, what names did you retain ? ;)

i retained not a name but a face... to which i have since found the name: EKOKO.
despite OL clearly dominating and winning 3-1, he was undisputably the best player on the pitch. paillot and benhamida are about as good as a CFA charničre gets, and he made them dizzy.

"I had other possibilities, but the fact that Pierro Dreossi is now in charge of the team is a real plus," Monterrubio told the club's official website.
"I love the club, and now we will have a competitive team next season.
"I am one of the oldest players at the club, I fancy being a leader on and off the pitch."

You've already lost Kallstrom and is on the verge of losing another great talent. Dreossi has got some serious rebuilding to do right now.

The bad news is all over. Monterrubio resigning was the 1st good news and there is a strong rumor of Slyvain Monserau of Lyon going to Rennes which would be more good news. Its not as big of a rebuilding job as you say it is. Frei didnt do much last year so anything you get out who will replace him will be an improvement. Kallstrom is a loss but if you can get someone to replace him like his countryman Whilemsson from Anderlecht then problem is solved. Gourcouff is the only guy whos not easily replaceable but Im sure there are good youngster coming through the ranks. Yousiff Hadji and John Utaka are still there and those 2 are really good players coupled with Monterrubio.

It was awkward watching the Sweden match BTW. There was a shot with Edman, Källström and Isaksson nearly on the same picture...

Looks like Daniel Moreira is coming. I understand why Rennes would want to take a shot at him but I dont know why Toulouse would sell to a league rival. I didnt know TFC were trying to get rid of him or that if he is unhappy there. Maybe someone knows the real story behind it.

Didnt Moreira score more goals than Frei last year ? Ok I'd rather have Frei than Moreira he is a few years younger so we will have to see how well he does next year at Rennes.

Btw, he said that he is willing to join Dortmund only and is not talking to other clubs.

We shall see if he can win the Bundesliga golden boot next season. I dont think he will but he should be in the top 5 in goals scored by the end of the season.

True but I am expecting 15-18 goals out of him next season. Thats my prediction and I know nothing about Dortmund's other players other than the 2 guys who just left(Rosicky and Koller)

Odonkor can not play football but he is trying so many high cut-ins that eventually some of them must drop on Frei's head. So yes....I can imagine that Frei scores a couple of goals for us. Anyway, he is still a Rennes player.
