Wheres Jan Koeller going ?

Rumours are Palermo, EPL and then I heard of a French club. Was it Marseille or Monaco? I don't remember at all.

I think it was Marseille. I remember a quote from him saying that his wife loved the city of Marseille and she'd like to live there.

Then again...Monaco is not a bad city either. Not mentioning saving taxes! ;-)

He was linked with Marseille 1 or 2 years ago I think. He hasnt been linked with Marseille or Monaco for this current transfer season.

IMHO he is a very static player that is not able to play fast counter attacking football or one-two's. But he is HUGE in the air besides not having a good heading technique. He is a 200% fighter that very seldom misses matches. During his 5 seasons with us (minus the last one where he torn a PCL) he always made 30+ of 34 matches. His scoring record is like 15 goals each season, though he also missed a couple of sitters. In defence he is the ROCK as he is the perfect opponent corner destroyer. ;-)

WHY ???

Bah, Monaco...:D

I've heard the Monegasque were eyeing him because of his ability to manage a group of young players coming out of the academy. Now, is it the truth or the journalist's assumption...?

Wheres Jan Koeller going ?

When Bernard Lama was at Rennes, he clearly advised the staff to sign Koeller and he was very much annoyed that they didn't agree with him.

Rennes, more than ever at the Swedish hour...

Wednesday May 24, 2006, by Seb_nonda

Very inspired by its Swedish die which, for a few seasons provided to the Breton club of very good cheap players, Pierre Dréossi has seemed to want to continue on this way. Indeed, two new international Swedish could join very soon the red and black club.

Chistian Wilhelmsson, announced in Monaco, Nantes and with the PSG would have become the priority of recruitment of Rennes to believe the Swedish daily newspaper Expressen of it. The agent of the player, who evolves/moves in Anderlect is a very dynamic player, being able to evolve/move on the side right, even left, or like attacker. It is of more titular indisputable of the Swedish selection. Its transfer would be estimated with the neighbourhoods of the 4 M€. It could also be joined by the evolving/moving attacker with Brondby Johan Elmander. Announced since the last mercato of winter, this last could finally raise a challenge of Rennes which could the interested party. Retained by Michael Laudrup with the last mercato of winter, which has just left the club, one does not see how the Danish club could retain its brilliance player once again...

After will Isaksson, Edman, Kallstrom, which be the new Swedish stars of the Stage of Rennes? To follow.

Buzz of the day.

Reynald Denoueix (former Nantes coach) could succeed to Bölöni. Maybe people will be forced to say : jeu ŕ la Rennaise from now ! :p

Yeah, but we still need a new Swiss. ;)

It appears that Nantes are close to signing Wilhelmsson. This would be a shock I think. His club have put a high price tag on him in the past and have turned down offers from Tottenham and Forientina. He's out of contract and I read his price tag is around 4m. Now why would he chose Nantes #1 and #2 I cant believe Nantes are spending money to sign a good foreign player because they never do. If he does choose Nantes over Rennes he'd be making a mistake I think we can all agree on that.

Boloni gone. Frei gone. Kallstrom gone. Goucouff gone. Not a good offseason so far. Nanbawan must be crying in his sleep.

Then again Rennes cash in big time. Not satisfying the supporters in the short term, but in the long run it is sometimes wiser to go this way.

Goucouff is a really young guy who should still be at Rennes for a few more years but he refused to sign a new contract. I think his loss is more damning than Frei and Kallstrom because those 2 players are veterans looking for bigger clubs. Once Goucouff heard that big clubs like Milan were interested in him he decided he wanted to leave even though it really isnt in his best interest for his career. Where ever he goes he'll be sitting on the bench a lot and at Rennes he could have developed into a star. If they sign Christian Wilhlemsson that will help ease the loss of Kallstrom.

You might even add Monterrubio to the list...

Nanbawan must be crying in his sleep.

Rumours are that I don't sleep...

Bah, another string of transition years, as usual. That's the point of following Rennes, if there are surprises, they're more likely to be good ones.
