John O'Brien from California has been playing for Ajax Amsterdam since 16. He was one of the first Americans in the modern era to play in Europe and he was the first in a Champions League game.
I am a huge JOB fan and I hope if he does come back to the State, he comes to RSL.
I think the chances might be higher because RSL already has Pope and Mathis, who were JOB's teamates in the 2002 WC.
Just a thought.

I am a big fan of JOB as well. Looks like he is moving on to ADO Den Haag in Holland. Hopefully he will be able to stay healthy and show everyone on a consistent basis what a quality player he is.

not to mention even if he did come back, you are very low on the yanks returning list.

I assume you mean Major Allocation, as I've never heard of the MLS "Yanks Returning List".
True, but if Pope and Mathis convince him, I am sure he could "convince" MLS to bend the rules. :D
BTW ADO The Hague have agreed to a contract with JOB til Summer 2006.
Oh well. I just hope he gets fit for WC 2006.

Which means he'll be prime for a MLS midseason acqusition :D
As for the returning yanks list, it may be the same thing as the allocation list.
Though I could be totally wrong.

Dissapointing move for JOB. Id have thought even with his inuries he could set his sites higher than a team like ADO. In any case, he is too good for MLS and RSL, lets just hope he can regain his fitness and get some minutes on the pitch.

Too good? Maybe too expensive, but too good? What's that?

My guess is that "too good" = still able to get more $$$,$$$ in Europe than than MLS at this stage. It's hard to say. The injury issue has me wondering if I'd want JOB showing up at RSL. I don't question his commitment or desire or skills. But I do wonder if his ol' body for whatever reason can't quite take being pro. THe thing is, I don't know much about the validity of that questioning. That is, is there any sort of scientific proof that shows some people aren't "built as well" as others? O'Brien doesn't have one reoccuring injury. It's not like he keeps blowing out his knee. It seems to be a different thing most of the time. It's almost as though god gave him a lemon, ya know.
Then again, maybe he's just going through a streak of bad luck.

I'm just glad he's found a new team at all. I was worried about him at Ajax never ever playing. I know he's been injured, but it's been so long that I thought it looked like he would have to just stick it out there. If someone else actually signed him, than I guess it mean's he's at least almost healthy or they wouldn't want him. Hope he impresses.

Actually, I think he's referring to the ranking of allocations in regard to USMNT pool players, i.e. those players that have played for the NT and wanting to play in MLS that require an allocation. RSL lost their spot when they acquired Mathis. Currently, it's Chivas (haven't used their MA yet), Dallas (YSA), Chicago (Beasley A), and Dallas (Gibbs A). That's all based on Buzz's (3rddegree) info regarding the ranking of current major allocations.

Beat me to the punch.
Now if RSL were to offer up some type of trade, then I would say it might be 50/50.

But does RSL have anyone that Dallas (or Chivas or Chicago for that matter) would want?
