Nothing in Munich is near FJS airport coz it's in the middle of nowhere ;)
But there is a train transfer to the main railstation (5 km from the hotel), and the stadium is crap, but you'll figure that out yourself.

thanks for the help daniel... the stadium is crap?! i wouldnt have said so, but ive only seen it on the telly. theres been some historic matches there, just like all national stadiums i suppose though. i cant wait to see it anyway!
so what about the essentials... how much for beers? are there any lively bars worth visiting?

Don't know the exact prices and even don't know whether they serve normal beer or unleaded fuel at CL events, but 0,5l should be 3 to 3,5 Euro.
Munich's nightlife isn't that famous. Though as every big city there are quite some discos and bars. Many of them concentrated in so called "Kunstpark Ost". There you have a wide offer of bars, clubs, discos etc. so that youn can't go wrong at all. Though I don't know whether there is something going on midweek. The inner city itself is almost like Wall street at night. ;-)
And yes, the stadium is crap. Bring warm clothes as 1) the stadium has in the away end no roof and 2) it is pretty cold in Germany at the moment.

Being from Minnesota where cold is common--what is considered cold in Germany?
Jonam --I hope things don't get worse for BVB. Do you need us to send our pfennigs? :(

everything below 5°C (41 Fahrenheit)

About this time in Minnesota when the temp hits 41 degrees F you will see people wearing shorts --even with snow on the ground. Granted if there is a windchill they will be wearing pants. For January and February we are between 5 and 15 F

Uhhh, let's say for an average West European guy it is cold. Between -5°C to 0°C, I guess.

Nope, save your Pfennigs for a trip to Germany. ;-)
We will be fine.....whether it is league 4 or Bundesliga. The unbelievable massive support will get us out of this mess. I am no marxist (more or less an absolute liberal guy) but BVB supporters know:
United we stand, divided we fall.
Together we are what we can't be alone.

One should distinguish between the Northern parts and the South. Up North close to the sea they have a milder climate in terms of temperatures (but it is of course damn windy), while in the South close to the Alps, people are more used to temps going well below zero. In Bavaria, people are walking around in Lederhosen in below zero temps, of course the Northerners are not used to such freezing cold.
