Which area of the team does Fulham need to strengthen the most this summer?
I believe defense and midfield need work. We obsiously need a left back as we have no natural left back other than a young Adam Green. I would also like to see another box to box midfielder who can pass and create for others from the middle of the park.

Hey Taus,
From what I have read this guy has ALREADY SIGNED?!?! I guess he had some bad luck with the club he is at now but many of you Aussies rate him highly.
He is a welcomed addition to FFC...I see the Socceroos are playing New Zealand at our beloved Craven Cottage...

Cultural thing wrt his Korean club. Communication problems with contracts & clauses. Best for both parties that he left.
Yes, he's rated highly by us Aussies. He's played about 30 minutes of football (as a sub) in both recent AUS MNT games (Iraq & Indonesia) and scored in both games. Also contributed well in the AUS WCQ's prior to that. Left Harry Who? for dead in the only game (45 minutes) he turned up for.
Ahmed will be in the AUS team to play our Kiwi cousins at Craven Cottage and has been selected (injuries excepted) for the AUS Confeds Cup team in Germany, shortly thereafter.

I am excited to read more about Elrich and see him play for Fulham in Columbus against the MLS All-Stars! I think this guy can help us out in the midfield and that this is a good signing! Well done Fulham!!

I have some friends in Fulham that are going to that match just to see him play...I like that the Aussies have chose Craven Cottage as their home away from home.
I didn't know that Elrich and Cahill played together so much...lets hope Elrich is half as good as Cahill is for Everton.

lets hope Elrich is half as good as Cahill is for Everton. As this is going to be a different playing environment (eg constant pressure to get in the team, let alone play well when chosen) only time will tell (if Ahmed has the toughness of Timmy Cahill). Let's just wait & see.

Elrich is a quality player for sure. Lightning pace and a good finisher. Bit ********ed in the head sometimes. Should never have gone to Busan. He'd be at Birmingham already otherwise. He wanted a $250,000 release clause put on his contract and when he didn't get it he signed anyway. After that Busan told Birmingham they wanted 2 million for him. When Birmingham didn't agree he walked out of the club (Busan) and has done nothing for a year. Cut a long story short hes a dickhead but he's also a really talented player.

Lee Clark has now been officially released by Fulham. I think he was asking for too much money in his weekly wages and the club did not think he was worth what he was asking for. Any thoughts on this?

He was with Fulham in the promotion years, 1999 from the old 2nd division to the old 1st, and the 2001 promotion to the top flight. He was a great team player, but, like when Barry Hayles was let go, you have to move on sometimes, even with classy players.
Hopefully we find a good midfield replacement for him.

Van Der Sar is off to Manchester United for an undisclosed fee. Looks like newbie Jaroslav Drobny will have to fill some big shoes next season.

That's too bad. Maybe you should try going for Robert Green from Norwich. There was some discussion about Man. U. bidding for him, but seeing as they got van der Sar, Green is up for grabs. He would be a good choice since he has EPL exprerience, although the experience isnt something he'd be keen on remembering.

I would be interested in getting Green. It has not been talked about much, but Fulham did sign Jaroslav Drobny from Greek side Panionios this summer. Drobny did start for his club and is 25 years old. He is no Van Der Sar, but
he is the best we have right now. We will all have to keep tabs on what happens with Green.
