Why cant Newcastle score? They have one of the best midfields in the Prem and a strategy that scores goals. So why wont the ball go in? Ive seen Newcastle several times and enjoyed their play but cant figure out why they are not putting the ball in the net.

A few things:

1. I cannot tell you how many shots have found the wordwork.

2. In last night's game, Shearer had a goal disallowed on a very questionable offside call.

3. The club plays at a different level when Bellamy is in the match. I just wish he wouldn't create havoc in the way of bookings. Lua-Lua is a fine one and is still learning the game, while Amoebi has yet to show that he is a finisher. His goal vs. BCFC was the result of his meager shot deflecting off the keeper and into the net.

They may be a very different club with Bellamy in the mix, but given the 4-5-1 that Robson lined up against Juve last night one has to wonder if Craig would even have started.

Following the match it certainly seemed like the idea was to have enough men in midfield and try to use penetrating wing runs from Robert, Dyer and Nobby to feed into Shearer.

It's also worth mentioning that Robert does not seem able to put a free kick on goal to save his arse this year, and Dyer just hasn't been as creative or deadly as last.

I thought in Dyer's case that Wor Bobby wanted him to pick his spots to save himself from injury.

If Dyer constantly is having to "pick his spots" to save himself from injury...are we ever gonna get the 100% Dyer? I mean what is he saving himself from? Having to sit out a more important match than a CL match against Juve? Why play him if he's not gonna get stuck in and try to save himself from injury?

He suffers from shin splints (allegedly). I don't know if we will see a 100 percent Dyer again. I think the attempted maiming by that Soton player at the end of last season put him back more than anyone will imagine

id just like to say that the the officiating of the Juve match was a disgrace. Del piero went down like a tonne of bricks when dabizas brushed him with his arm and then scored a deflected goal. His free kick was a touch of class but it was highly debatable.

And as for the Shearer goal, does the ref and linesman know how the offside rule works?

I was in Turin for the game & do feel that we did didnt get the same treatment from the referee as Juve did , but dont think there was much in it really. Juve dived a bit , but then again , they are professionals & do what they must to win a game. Crowd were superb , until the 1st goal went in , then we lost heart a little & it all went quiet.................also - there was NO beer ( or food ) available ANYWHERE in Turin after 11.00 PM that night !!!!!!!!!!!!
