Hi,

It seems that fixtures in Argentina every weekend are spread out over Fri/Sat/Sun for TV purposes. When are the games for TV decided?

I have only been able to find out the complete schedule (Fri/Sat/Sun) for this weekend. Does anyone know exactly which games are on each of the three days on the weekend of 5 March?

Fixtures for the weekend of 5 March:

Almagro Rosario Central
Arsenal Banfield
Estudiantes LP Argentinos Jrs.
Lanús Vélez Sarsfield
Newell's Colón (Sta.Fe)
Olimpo (BB) Gimnasia LP
Quilmes Huracán (TA)
Racing Club Boca Juniors
River Plate Instituto (Cba)
San Lorenzo Independiente

Thanks in advance,
skyway.

In Argentina they deside one week before the games the ones that are going to be on TV .So there is no way for you to know 15 in advanse ,there are a couple of games that we know for sure are going to be on TV( like River vs Boca) .That has to do alsow with the team performanse in the champioship , TV always want the teams that are fighting for being champion than the ones that are in last place. So you know there are going to be 7 games on TV but you will know wich ones are going to be 7 days before they are broadcast

Thanks very much, Tincho.

What is the best and most updated website to check for this type of information? It doesn't matter if it's in English or Spanish.

I'm really hoping that Racing V Boca is not scheduled until Sun, Mar 6 as I only arrive the night before in Buenos Aires and that is the game that I would most like to see.

Correct me if I'm wrong but these would be the other games in the capital that weekend:

Almagro Rosario Central
Arsenal Banfield
Lanús Vélez Sarsfield
Quilmes Huracán (TA)
River Plate Instituto (Cba)
San Lorenzo Independiente

I guess the San Lorenzo would be the next best game to go and see as it is a derby match, yes?

One more question - the following weekend I will be in Mendoza and I notice that two clubs from that city - Godoy Cruz and Atlético Club San Martín - are playing each other in Nacional B. I'm guessing that this might be a good game to go and see as well although I'm well aware that the quality will not be as good as the top division.

Thanks again,
skyway.

That Racing x Boca game will almost certainly be on the Sunday. That is because Boca play in the Copa Libertadores on the Wednesday before that weekend.

This is true and since its a clasico im for sure it would be played 5 pm in Argentina which it would be 3 pm here on the east coast of the U.S. and the River game most probably will played as the last game of the week. As for the other clasico which is San Lorenzo vs Independiente it might be played real early on sunday or even on saturday due to security purposes knowing that Racing-boca will be playing later on.
