On Monday the Gunners named a 16-man squad without a single English player. Can you imagine Bayern without a single German?? .....Can you imagine Real Madrid without a single foreign superstar?

Heh... Bayern aren't that much different.

Yeah, we played without a single Brit in the team. Cole and Campbell were out injured. We've shipped off Pennant, our English problem child, to Birmingham, and our backup right back wasn't on the bench as he's injured (an England U-21).

Didn't a Bundesliga team (BREMEN????) field a team in the last couple years that was devoid of German players?
Here is another interesting Arsenal fact: they have never won the Champions League :D

We don't want to get too confident. I really don't want to see Bayern lose and then have to listen to a torrent of gloating from Arsenal fans.

The Bundesliga will never attract enough foreign talent to do what Arsenal did... and what's the big deal anyways? EU nationals are not foreigners.
What next? Bayern can only field a squad of guys from Bavaria? Ballack's an Ossi, isnt he?
From a fan relations perspective though, especially in conservative Bavaria, you guys have always struck a great balance between national talent and foreign talent. Having a large war chest tends to help!

it must be so sad having only one or two good games to reminisce about, eh? ;)
the majority of arsenal fans like to shoot in the dark - every year they say theyre gonna thrash somebody and win the champions league...
blindly hoping to hit something, lol...

Kahn,Ballack,Frings,Scholl,Schweinsteiger,Deisler none German?
How many of those 6 make the starting eleven? Think back just a couple years ago when Bayern were in their more successful era... Kahn, Effenberg, Jeremies, Basler, Scholl, Linke, and Jancker. Toss in Fink and Strunz too.

Sebastian Deisler? Is he back in the squad again?
Ok, so other than Kahn and Schweinsteiger, which of those did Bayern bring up and make the player they are now?

I believe they bought Kahn from Karlhsruhe.
Homegrown players Kuffour, Hargreaves, Schweinsteiger, Guerrero.

Yes, he was. It's sort of a tradition ;)
Players who went from Karlsruhe to Bayern in the 90s (out of my head, so maybe I forgot some):
Kahn, Scholl, Fink, Sternkopf, Kreuzer and Tarnat
