Is holding casting/tryouts in Los Angeles on Oct. 26, and sessions start in November. They should be ready to go by April.
Pretty good stuff. I've read the rough draft of the script and they've done some interesting things with it.

This is what scares me. The story is interesting as it is. I hope they don't add a love story or have the player who scores the goal learn that his mother is dying of cancer just before the game, then run into the stand at Belo Horizonte where she is watching from a hospital bed... etc.

No no...it'll be much worse than that. England will be up 2-0 when the parapalegic (sp?) US player comes on as a sub when the star player gets injured and scores three goals (all headers of course) and they win 3-2 instead of 1-0.

Oops. You're right, it could be worse. And of course, the game against England will be changed to the Championship match.
Any actors you'd like to see in this one?

Oh, and Joe Gaetjens climbs the ladder and puts a torpedo header in the goal.
And remember, in this full international, mine eyes of have seen the glory. The Americans have come through their Valley Forge, and beaten the Redcoats

yeah, but were there any hitch kicks?
"The Lobsterbacks gained the box on numerous occasions what with their goalie's sensational 80 yard punts and all but hitch kick after hitch kick were merely bombs bursting in air."

Larenz Tate (he of Menace II Society fame) is already the front-runner for the role of Gaetjens. Not a bad choice, IMHO.
Waldo is helping out with auditions, which are Oct. 15 and 29 in LA. There's also talk that he might land himself a part (obviously not a lead role).

As long as it doesn't have Mario Van Peebles in it. That's the kiss of death.

He recently passed away. His best known film role was as the director of the play in Mel Brooks' film "The Producers."
How about Michael Caine as the coach?
