I'm only speaking for myself here.

home field advantage

Mexico is almost unstoppable at home (sure bet to get 13-15 pts at Azteca), US is not as efficient at home, and also needs to improve on the road before I think they can win a hex.

Like yellowbismark says, Mexico's homefield advantage is the primary factor but the main thing IMHO is that the USMNT still has difficulty winning on the road in central america.

I don't think the USMNT is not AS efficent at home as Mexico, In fact, I see us winning ALL our home WCQs. But until we can win road WCQs consistently, Mexico will have a slight edge. I also believe that Mexicans put A LOT of emphasis on winning the Hex, which is fine.

All I care about is going farther in the WC than el tri.

this is an aim conversation I had with my friend KornNutz1320, he is a USMNT supporter and im a Mexican national team supporter, we have our differences but we know that the sh!t that goes on between the two teams and their supporters is just the passion of soccer and not racism or hard feelings felt for the other.

First off I dont see how mexico can score more that a goal on the US we have a world class keeper and we have not coceded more 2 goals in a game for long time and I also dont see how we can not score on them over there if they score then most likely we will too but I dont see how they can score more than two goals. I think that the rivalry really started about 10 years ago with the US 4-0 win in the Nike US cup and then the USA penalty shootout win in the quarterfinals of 1995 Copa America. Ever since then Mexico has been looking for some sort of revenge, but have never really found it.

certainly no on would have called it a rivalry 10 years ago....but thats when it all started...hell since 15 years ago the US has a winning record against mexico....the shorter you put the time frame to the present the more of an advantage the US has.

The United States allowed two goals at Grenada in June, and Grenada's talent isn't on the same planet as Mexico. The United States has done much better at home tham on the road in their 9 WCQs so far:
4 home games: 12:1 aggregate with 3 wins and a draw (3 shutouts vs. Grenada, Panama, and El Salvador)
5 road games: 9:5 aggregate with 3 wins and 2 draws (1 shutout vs. El Salvador)
I'll make predictions for the first time:
Costa Rica 2:0 Panama
Guatemala 2:1 Trinidad and Tobago
