Rangers News:

Tony Thorpe out. Bircham came through the reserve match okay, so could see the bench. Same with Rose. Davies is in his last game of his loan at Rangers. Royce's loan has been extended and he's likely to continue his run in goal.

The Opponent:

PNE now sits in a play-off position; they haven't lost in the league in their last eight (their only setback since December 11th was an FA Cup loss to West Brom).

Last six (most recent first):
H Coventry W, 3-2
A Plymouth W, 2-0
H Leicester D, 1-1
H West Brom L, 0-2 (FA Cup)
A Crewe W, 2-1
H Sunderland W, 3-2

other results in their eight-game unbeaten string: home win over Reading, away draw at Stoke, and home win over West Ham.

The First Meeting:

PNE won 2-1 at Deepdale on October 19th, snapping the R's 7-match Championship winning streak. An 8th minute goal from Santos was cancelled out by a 10th minute goal and a 79th minute penalty from Preston.

The Series:

QPR trails 6-8-8 after the loss at Deepdale this season. The clubs first met in 1949.

The Referee:

Lee Probert has been assigned. 20 matches with 59 yellows and 5 reds this season. 9 of his 20 matches have been in the Championship. This is his first career QPR match.

Starting the second half, it's 1-0 to QPR, Furlong scored in the 26th minute. I've just got home from being dragged around shopping with the lady so I think I can do pbp now, I've earned 45 minutes. :)

"open header" for Furlong, missed, he's called for a push. Eddie Lewis got a mention for playing in a great cross a few minutes ago.

oooh...Gallen "great cross", to Furlong, Cureton gets in the way and it's broken up.

Lewis with another great ball for Preston, which came back for offside. Sounds like end to end stuff. Also the announcers are praising Andrew Davis, too bad the kid has to go back to So'ton tomorrow.

Apparently the field conditions are horrible.

...windy? not sure, they havent said precisely what the issue is.

ahh, nevermind, they just said it was really windy.

Wind is at Preston's back, and they're starting to press a bit more. Eddie Lewis keeps getting good mentions, he's apparently having a good day.

3 on 1 for Preston...whew, it got scrappy there for a second but it's still 1-0 QPR. Royce made a great save in the middle of all of it.

********. Paul McKenna stopped by Royce, gives up a rebound, Nugent tucks it home, 1-1.

ooo...Furlong to Gallen who shoots over. End to end stuff again, QPR seems to be counterattacking well.

Gino with a poor clearance and gives Preston a chance, which McKenna misses. It's getting dicey, Preston seems to be taking over this game a bit.

triple sub...

Cureton, Edgehill, and Cook off, replaced by Bircham, Bignot, and Rowlands, more defensive pose for QPR.

Ooooh! Ainsworth just misses with a header, off a Bircham cross.

Hmm, I'm here 20 minutes and we give up 2 goals. I am going back to cleaning the house now. I suppose if I leave and check back this afternoon then QPR will have at least managed a draw...here's to hoping for the best. Bye Art.

some pushing and shoving now, the referee seems to be losing control.

Lucketti and Davis both booked for Preston? Or just Davis I think. Furlong had knocked the ball out, Davis started a scuffle for some reason.
