Well, he has been playing out of position with Fulham for over a year. He has been decent for Fulham, but not spectacular. I am of the belief that he at least to get a chance to play in the center of defense. As a Fulham fan, I want to know if he can hack at that position in the EPL.
The nice thing about Carlos is the fact that he never complains and always goes out and gives it his best. Overall, I have been pleased with him. He is and will not be the best defender in the world, but he is not bad either.
One last thing, even though I am American, I am not a homer who just thinks Yanks are the best players in the world. I try to give good, honest opinions of players.

he does not have the speed to be a left back. he just does what the manager asks him to do and takes his lumps. i guess he's barely ok as a left back. as a center back tho, i agree with the previous poster, he may be better. but there's no way to know without him getting a look at that position.
sad really.

For playing out of position in the (in my opinion) best league in the world, he has held his own. It is only helping his game playing left back

On 606 phone in just now a caller called him "the worst left back in the EPL". I hope this is not true as I have been a fan since we picked him 4th overall in the MLS draft.
On the U.S. team he looks to be to slow to play anyone better than Mexico.
I wish Fulham the best.
