I think the unofficial motto for shirts, hats, etc. should be:
"WWPD?
Germany, 2006"

Which of course means "What Would Patton Do?" (General Patton being the US WWII tank commander for our history deficient friends). Seems like a good way to say we are going to rip the German countryside another **************, without being that blunt on visiting territory.

Fans should also launch into singing "Over There" at the 18th minute of each half (the 18th and 63rd minutes). 18 representing 1918 the year WWI ended.

Finally, I imagine Donovan will be officially named captain by the beginning of the World Cup. At that time he should be immediately annointed Landon "Blackjack" Donovan in honor of General John "Black Jack" Pershing, Commander of American forces in WWI. Blackjack Donovan seems to roll off the tongue well, IMHO.

The rest, of course, should be well orchestrated mayhem.

I need to go to an Army Surplus store and get some old WW2 olive drab jackets.

Hmm, here I thought that as visitors in a foreign place, that its best to show some respect and enjoy the place your visiting. No, apparently you bring up wars you defeated the host nation at every opportunity for no good reason other than to be pricks.

I fricking hate tourist bastards who come into an area and act like they own the place and they can treat other people like dirt for no good reason than they think they can do whatever the hell they want because they wont see the people again. This crap makes me sick, and would embarass me as a fellow American.

BTW, Patton was a jackass who got a hell of a lot of American's killed because he thought the Sherman tank was just fine and dandy against German armor.

Sorry, this crap seriously just pisses me off.

I propose the reverse. From 2006 onward, our World War I commander will be referred to as General John "Landon Donovan" Pershing.

OK, that doesn't make any sense either. Nevermind.

I'll second what he said. Sort of defeats the purpose of the WC '06 official motto: "A time to make friends."

Fine. Whatever. I always thought the best soccer chant ever was when the British went to Germany and chanted:
Two World Wars
One World Cup
I suppose we all have to play nice now. I guess everyone should just sing about their johnson's. I'd delete the whole post if it would let me.

Such hysterics from a guy who has a picture of a kitten shooting someone with a gun next to their posts.
