I've seen several messages regarding the UEFA CL on ESPN Deportes, so I thought I'd share a bit of information and also show that we are listening.
1) ESPN Deportes has a toll-free number, 877-Pide-ESPN (it means ask for ESPN in spanish) which connects you to your local cable company. The number can be accessed in both english and spanish.
This is the best way to let ESPN Deportes know you want to watch UCL.
2) Call, call, call. The strategy worked for Dominican Baseball in NYC. So many subscribers called the local cable company that they transmitted ESPN Deportes during the Dominican Baseball Playoffs. The channel was also launched on other systems because of the number of calls from rabid baseball fans.
3) ESPN Deportes is available at all ESPN Zones so you can congregate their on match days. The Real Madrid vs. Juventus (22/2) and the Barcelona vs. Chelsea (23/2) matches will be transmitted live.
4) Also if we see enough demand we will work with some local pubs (in areas where ESPN Deportes is not available) to organize viewing parties for UCL matches.
5) If you want to use the web instead use this link to send an email to your cable company:

6) more info to come.

I wish there was a way to watch UCL on ESPN Deportes with English announcers. I know ESPN has English speaking announcers doing UCL games I just dont know what countries they show it in.

Australia, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Phillipines, Hong Kong (not a country anymore, but still), maybe some more.
(A very small subset in USA).

I think you should just have to click on the SAP button and get the English announcers on ESPND. ESPN Deportes confuses me greatly. They have the Dutch League on there with Spanish announcers of course. Why would Latin Americans care about Dutch football. They should have the Dutch League on espn deportes with English speaking announcers on there so us Americans could get into it. Having a Champions League game on with Spanish speaking announcers with 2 teams who arent really popular in Latin America doesnt make much sense to me. If you can click on your SAP button to get certain channels in Spanish why cant you do it to get Spanish speaking channels into English

First of all, you're already getting ESPN Deportes, which 99.9% of the country cannot get. But you can still find something to complain about them.

ESPN is a fraud, and ESPN Deportes is a scam.
It makes complete sense that no cable providers are interested in ESPN's scam. I've personally called my cable company to tell them NOT to carry ESPN Deportes because I am SICK AND TIRED of ESPN's politics when it comes to soccer fans in the U.S. This channel aims at keeping soccer in the back burner, and that's a disgrace for any true American soccer fans who wants to see his sport promoted and advanced to the mass public. Telling American soccer fans that they can have more access to soccer if they listen in a foreign language (and by the way I speak Spanish perfectly) and pay for an another extra premium, spells 'scam' to me and many others all the way. Wanna know the truth? There are way way way more soccer fans in the U.S. that speak English than speak Spanish, where's the justice in that? If I can watch favorable coverage of bass fishing, trick-shot billiards, X-Games, poker, etc on ESPN1 and ESPN2... why can't I find favorable promotion of soccer on there too? Why can't I watch just 30-45 seconds of daily soccer highlights and scores on ESPN's SportsCenter? I watch foreign sports channels from around the world (not ESPN networks) and it is amazing how their national sports media cover sports leagues from all over the planet including American sports. Why is ESPN-U.S so xenophobic and American-centrist when it comes to their programming? It's important to remember... I'm not asking ESPN-U.S to show us more of a "niche" sport (which they show PLENTY of), I'm asking them to show us the world's most popular sport and its most popular leagues. For example, ESPN bought the U.S. TV rights to UEFA Champions League, right? Why do they only show the minimum games required by UEFA on ESPN2 nonethless? Let's remember, as you stated, 99.99% of Americans don't have ESPN Deportes. One must go hunting to find the time and day (always shown at a time when most Americans are working) as to when the game are being shown, there is no advanced promotion of the League's games, no review, no highlights or mention on SportsCenter, and especially no repeat of the games, but yet I can find frequent repeats of World's Strongest Man competitions from years ago. It just doesn't add up anymore when it comes to the way ESPN in the U.S. treats global and national soccer. I'm tired of the poor excuses (ie: soccer can't make money), the go-around's, and especially the "solutions" (ie: pay more money to ESPN). I want justice.
And NO, this is not an invitation for "someone" to blow up this topic.

Because the American people don't really care about what happens in other countries. Really.
Relax, Ace. There's nothing you, I, or anyone here can do to change the corporate philosophy at ESPN. Just wait until August when Setanta Residential starts up. Then (even though it will cost you) you will have all the Champions League matches you can watch, and then some. At least I hope so.
As far as "blowing up" this topic, you KNOW it's coming, dontcha? Sooner or later...
