DESPITE training stamina twice in the offseason. It's downhill from here I'm sure.

I forgot to switch from stamina training ! Only 8 pops, 3 were to my starting IMs though (2 to solid one to passable). Form was -8/+1; -2/+1 for starters. I guess the stamina boosts will help in my game this week but I meant to get back to training PM. oh well

My first training session ever I was +4 on form and +21 on stamina. My best pm went to excellent stamina a jump of two spaces. :)

I swore I changed back to PM training this week, but apparently I didn't and I did another week of stamina. Form is deeper in the toliet now, with a +1/-12, luckily I was in fantastic form before this or I'd be in trouble. I did get 12 stamina pops though. I'm not too happy with myself. I just lost a week of training ********!!!!!
plus side of this though is that my entire starting lineup now has excellent stamina.

Had a strange thing happen this training session.
3 guys popped on scoring. The only problem is one of them is a defender! 31 yo defender that I played as a winger popped on scoring. Is that possible? Do wingers get a small piece of scoring training? I thought that scoring only trains forwards. Also, does set piece training give a small percentage to scoring training as well?
Other than the anomaly.
Scoring +3
Form +3, -7 (ugh)

All players are trained a tiny bit in what ever skill you are training, it is just a very small amount, so that is why your player popped in scoring. I've had defenders and forwards pop in their PM ability, so it is possible.

Two pops -- one to Titanic PM and the other to Formidable PM.
Contemplating selling the Titanic PM, he also has passable passing, passable wing and excellent stamina. But it might weaken my midfield too much. Hmmm ...

My impression is that there the returns after titanic start decreasing because the wages start getting out of hand.
If I were in your shoes (I wish) I'd sell him for $6-7 million and buy someone like this guy for ~$2 million to train up to titanic for a $5 million profit in 2.5 seasons:
Charley Johnson (35561973)
19 years, weak form, healthy
A pleasant guy who is balanced and honest.
Has disastrous experience and poor leadership abilities.
Speciality: Powerful
Nationality: USA
Total Skill Index (TSI): 6 490
Wage: 3 000 US$/week
Owner: Orange Park
Warnings: 0
Stamina: solid Goaltending: disastrous
Playmaking: outstanding Passing: passable
Winger: weak Defending: poor
Scoring: wretched Set Pieces: weak
Better hurry he expires in an hour or two. :)

yeah as kuhnscoot says other players get small amounts of training...I've had several long time defenders pop in scoring over the seasons..
no, SP training won't give you scoring...but the new "shooting" training will give you both scoring and SPs...I forget the percentages but it looks like a worthwhile offseason training to get more players trained.

I was having this exact conversation with Chris (Helghallen) earlier today.
Sell and replace with a younger player who I can keep training. And probably upgrade other parts of my squad too.
The downside of course is the hit I take in midfield. Can I afford to lose my best player and still win my series?
In the long term it will probably be best to sell him, but short term it's a tough call.

Midfield's not everything, or so all the other trainer types keep telling us. :P
Yeah, I sold off some of my less promising trainees at the end of last season to upgrade my attack and a little of my defense. My top three IMs are about the same skill level with varying degrees of secondaries. I'm hoping to spread their skills out a bit over the next few seasons so that I've got one maturing, with the next one a season behind and the next one a season behind that and so on. Trying to plan out how I want to accomplish that though.

does training at 100% increase the likely hood of injury?
