With all the talk on this board of this player and that, who is gone and who is staying, I thought it would be fun to speculate what the team may look like after World Cup 2006.

WOW! Bayern truly are in a pickle. I'm glad I'm not the chairman.

These are the four that should go by the end of this season:

Linke, Hashemian, Zickler and Santa Cruz. Let's face it, neither of them are really important to the team anymore. Furthermore, they should extend a few contracts, Ze Roberto and JPG for example. I still think Kuffour is very valuable, he is extremely loyal and also very consistent. Also, GO FOR PODOLSKI!

I don't think Hargreaves will leave in the near future. Also if these players do leave Bayern will get money for them and then sign new players with that.

I think it would be great if Hargreaves stays, especially as he is probably having his most consistent year. However, I do think the EPL is a call he will not ignore for too much longer.

I sure hope he stays with bayern hes our youngest starting mid. No epl team he goes too will be as big as bayern except mayby man u. Mind you if he goes to epl he may gain a starting role for the national squad, but ultimatley he will succeed greater on a club level with bayern. Hes our best defensive mid, and to lose him would be a great loss, but frings can play this role aswell

Wow this is somewhat of a solbering thread, One thing to keep in mind is UEFA'a new rule about a manditory number of homegrown players on the active roster.. if this is the case we will more than likely have to promote from within because I dont see to many names on everyones list that can be considerd homegrown

Brings to question, is this our year to take another cl title. this is pherhaps our deepest club in years, and with sol campbell out, the stars seem to be lining up for a bayern victory against arsenal. if we are going to win again this seems to be as good as a year as any

I totally agree, I think this is the year to do it. If this team doesn't get it this year then defintely next year, providing the team doesn't change much because the chemistry is really good and Magath has found a great winning strategy and line up that is working in Europe and at home.

I doubt Hargreaves will leave anytime soon, he is in great form and Magath won't let him leave. Plus, Hargreaves is a man marking specialist, probably one of the top 5 in Europe and we desperately need someone like that in the CL.

Linke will go, so i think we'll keep Kuffour. I want to discuss a little bit about the lineup and formation Magath has been using.

I affirm Bayern can't do best with both Frings and Ballack playing in CM. Magath should put a more creative player than those 2 in the headspear and this role seems to fall on either scholl or deisler's hands. Please give Deisler a chance to try on his most wanted position, he's not a genuine winger.

Here are suggested lineups:

------------Pizza----Makaay

-------------Scholl/Deilser

---Ze roberto---------------Owen/Sweisteiger

------------ Frings /Ballack

----Lahm------Lucio-Kovac------sagnol

--------------Kahn

Or

----------Gurrerro/Makaay

----Deisler/Ze roberto-------Pizarro

Frings---------------Sweisteiger/Owen

------------Ballack

----Lahm------Lucio-Kovac------sagnol

--------------Kahn

this 4-3-3 is my best formation, we always have 3 attacking players up front and 3 strong defensive midfielders right behind them to battle for the ball. Also we should have more fluency down the wings with 3 or 4 players in 3 layers and we can solve the problem in the above 4-1-2-1-2 formation which is Ballack and frings won't neutralise each other on the heart of midfield.

On the Bayern website, it is written that there is a rumour Deisler may move to Stuttgart in the summer.

Personally, I say good riddens. This guy shows absolutely no ambition to succeed as a footballer.

as long as hes playing for germany in the WC, im happy...

theres no other german with the skills that deisler has...

if fit, hed walk straight into the german team, imo...

personally, id like him to stay at bayern and get some regular games in until the end of the season - then we should see...

No question Deisler has some terrific ability with great passing skill; but what use is his abilities if he is so passive on the pitch? He is always just so content to lay off an easy pass to a team mate 2 metres away from him all the time.

He lacks confidence and if he isn't going to get any, it renders his abilities useless. It is like a defender that doesn't want to tackle because he might get injured. There are better players in Germany with more will power that can improve the team overall.

What sparked this sudden criticism over him? I have been thinking about it for a while now but since yesterday when I watched the Schevchenko XI - Ronaldinho XI and his uselessness, I thought enough was enough.

I understand if he suffers from depression etc, but football is a business and if he isn't up for it then I suggest he concentrate on something else. Someone should brainwash him with a Rocky movie marathon so he can develop some cojones.

(yeh there was a Rocky movie marathon on HBO earlier today :D).

When I see comments like this, or the ones by our friend triple box, I start being depressed as well. It's an illness for goodness sake, give him a chance. And another one. You obviously have no clue what a depression is. I hope you are a teenager or a kangaroo, at least that's the only two excuses I can think of right now.

Dunno about balla but I'm a teenage kangaroo.
I understand if he has a problem with depression and I will remain sympathetic to his condition but one needs to understand that was also over a year ago and expectations are made of him by the Bayern management, coach, team mates and fans. If he isn't up for it then he should transfer to a smaller club where the demands are less. For me personally I just get the sense he is content on picking up the check for training rather than sweat for the team.
