Glad to see this again. The trip to Taxco for $40 is a good value. It is about 2 1/2 hours each way, much farther than the pyramids. Taxco is very pretty and is the best place in Mexico-perhaps the world-to buy silver jewelry.

Hey K, good stuff for you folks up in DC.

FYI, there are a bunch of us staying at Brisas Galeria Plaza and we were planning an informal saturday night get together at the Plaza followed by some pub hopping saturday evening. Maybe we should coordinate our efforts saturday evening to get a pre-match night party going.

So does this mean you will not be with the soccer vacations ticket allocation, or are you both getting them from the Fed?

We don't know what SV is doing as we never contacted them. We have a contact at USSF and we're getting our tickets directly from them (I would assume they are part of the USSF allocation as one would think they would want all groups together). What is posted above is what we were told (which looks like a little bit more info than what USSF posted on their website to order these tickets).

Feel free to contact Lisa or Paul on this as maybe they have heard more (or can ask for more details). I think at the point USSF may not have any more details yet and are waiting on the Mexican Federation to let them know where the section will be.

Awesome effort guys. Sorry I can't make it (I'm taking some students to Spain on a trip pre-arranged last year). If you put something together for Costa Rica, I'm in. Bless you all and give them hell!!!
The WCX will be at home hex matches when possible. Drop by for a brew.

Just a little more info on some of the side trip options:

Pyramids at Teotihuacan http://archaeology.la.asu.edu/teo/

Taxco, Mexico: http://www.otherroads.com/taxco.htm

Cuernavaca, Mexico: http://victorian.fortunecity.com/pollock/89/english/pages/index1.htm

We can also put together a Mexico City tour (we did that the last time).

Contact Lisa and/or Paul for more specifics and prices.

On the way back to the airport on Mon, you will make a stop at the Shrine of Guadalupe: http://nanotube.msu.edu/SMG.html

ALSO NOTE THE SPA FEATURES IN THE HOTEL: If your spouse is not a big soccer fan, a day of beauty/massage might help your cause in getting to the game! ;)

Thanks for offering, but I guess, everything has been paid for already, so I don't want an extra hassle with canceling/reordering, etc.
But I'll gladly have a few shots of tequila with you, guys!
