A little over 5 months back, the little plucky country sandwiched between Spain and France and whose popultaion could fit into most French and Spanish stadiums, claimed their first ever win in competitive European football after a 1-0 over Macedonia.
Cue, February 9th 2005. And surely not? Surely they couldn't have done it.
Well no, they didn't win. But they did claim a creditable draw, 0-0 to be exact in Skopje this evening.
In doing so, they have avioded an away defeat for the first time ever, clinching their first point away from the little nation.
With 4 points achieved and now having amassed more in this qualification group than all the previous qualifications combined. They now sit pretty in 6th place above 7th placed Armenia.
