SOCCER Glazer ready to launch United takeover
SPORTS magnate Malcolm Glazer is reported to be finally in position to launch a hostile takeover for Manchester United.

United and their fans had hoped they had seen off the American but now it seems that he has the £800million he needs to buy the club through the funding by bankers JP Morgan. He could put in a formal bid by next month, shattering news for the world's biggest football team..........

I'm an Arsenal fan and even I cringe at the thought of Glazer...........

Can someone explain this to me better: Even if he makes a bid, don't the board of directors or something of that nature still have the power to deny him.

Everytime I see that picture of his smiling face with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers flag I want to throw up. I litterally see him as a collector of sports teams rather than someone who actually cares about them. But that's just me.

See. I'd love an American at the helm of Man Utd. He'd have all the players eating Super Size Cheesburgers for there dinner. And crispy bacon rolls for there breakfast. They'd be a force no more. Which is always nice to see.

Wonder why he would invest 800million just to buy a single team when he could create several teams for half the price in what is going to be the worlds largest single league. MLS.

Maybe its the single entity thats the problem, after all you own nothing in the MLS except a shared debt, currently

I prefer the bangers n mash. Glazer's an idiot. Had Tampa...they won a bowl...now they're crap! He could do the same to Man U!

Just really no point for him to buy the team, no one wants him to, so I think now's it's more a case of him not wanting to be told no. Someone told him he couldn't have it, and he got all pissy! Sucks all around!

Merchandise United. they don't need him at all, financially they're right at the top of the tree.

However it serves them right for having been such a greedy club over the last 10 years, greed attracts greed.

Really, they should do like <find a team> that hands out all their profits on street corners to the poor widows and orphans.

What *are* you on about?
