I'd put out:
------------dudek
Finnan ---SH-----JC-----Traore
Smicer----Hanann --SG---Riise
--------Nando--Baros
I think Rafa will play Garcia over Vlad. You know the burro and all that. ;)
Subs:
Carson
Pellegino
Smicer
Biscan

one vital point if we're being realistic.

All it took was to open the thread and the Bitters troll on.
And who is it you play in the early game?
We'll know that result when we start and we shall see what the situation is at the end of the day.

Bitters I say, Bitters
What.... don't you think a draw at St Andrews is a decent result? What I'm saying is that it's more realistic that Liverpool come away with just a point than all three points here. If you actually win then well done.
We know that result
Don't be silly, no one knows the results yet. Only Matt Clark.

I believe you've missed LB's point. He's not saying he's positive your lot will drop points against Chelsea (although I'd say that's VERY likely).
He's alluding to the fact that you play the early game on Saturday.
Thus, we will, in fact, know the result of your match before LFC kick off.

One would imagine that a frustrated Chelsea team will steam roll the next opponent since they failed to beat Citeh at home. It's bad to be the victim. ;)

There lies the difference between Liverpool and Everton. The only "decent result" is 3 points.
Shouldn't you be celebrating your draw at St Mary's?

At the risk of getting back on topic, Garcia would have to have pictures of several top FA officials with burros as well to play in this one. He picked up his fifth yellow in the last match.
If he's ready to go 90, Smicer plays. I hope Rafa doesn't do anything silly like move Finnan up the wing and Carra out wide to give Stevie a rest. He's got to start resting the occasional regular here again shortly. Moro, Baros, and SG can't play every 4 days from now until May.

I think the troll got hooked..!
48 - 43 and closing.
+14 - +4 and spreading.
Bent scores in injury time. Referees love the bitter blues.

Guys...this sort of banter is to be expected since Everton have finally given their supporters something to be excited about, but let's discuss where it should be discussed, not get off topic and tone down the rhetoric, eh??
I think most of this stuff should be discussed in the Champion's League thread. Pigs...don't hijack our threads with this stuff. I don't think you're getting much more than you're giving, so stop acting like you're being persecuted, okay?

Right. It was our worst game of the season. The fans and players were disgusted with the performance. Everton, on the other hand, celebrated their point when the final whistle went. Sorry, back to the thread topic...
Garcia will probably start as Smicer probably doesn't have his full match fitness yet. Nunez can also be considered to give us some crosses from the right hand side. Any word on Kewell being available?

The only players that I could consider changing from the side are Garcia and Biscan. Hamann will probably play, and Smicer might have a chance at starting, but I doubt it. Other than that, I say keep the same side, it's doing well.

Garcia is suspended for this match, isn't he? Unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised to see Nunez back in the starting line up for this one. I'd prefer Smicer.
Last year we went to Birmingham and picked up a 3-0 win. It would be nice to continue our run and put some more pressure on Everton.

Yeh, but last year Mr Em played for us...!:rolleyes
All these games are going to be fun from now on in. You can tell by the sudden influx of Bluenose Bitter posting that the pressure is on.

yes Garcia is suspended. I'd go with Vladi. Nunez is not there yet.

Big day indeed. We definitly need a good result against Birmingham. Should be a nice easy 2 point gap by the end of the day!

I just hope that there was a certain amount of irony with that statement. 'Easy' is hardly the word I'd use with these guys. They have a lot to fight for and they have some excellent players who just need to click together.
Tell ya, I'm holding my thoughts....and breath!!!!

Birmingham are a stiff opponent and they are pulling out the stops to get ready for the Reds (They got Upson released from National Team duty for instance. How much you want to bet he passes a fitness test just before game time on Saturday?).
Pandiani and Pennant are a pair of pretty dangerous additions and Maik Taylor loves to stone Liverpool goalscorers. But I don't think that the other Blues have the firepower to beat us. And Taylor hasn't met 'Nando yet - he won't have the luxury of facing dear old Emile's dodgy finishing this time around.
I am praying that Stevie G and Carragher make it through Wednesday's match without incident and that we totally boss the Savage-less Blues midfield. Perhaps Clinton Morrison will get to feature in the game and show us all again why he is a superior player to Michael Owen:rolleyes:. I hope that they give Emile a start for old times' sake and that he misses an assignment on a corner kick so that we score on one for once. Maybe Sami can follow up his first of the year with a quick second. I would love to see a welcome back strike from Vladi too.
In the end - a 3 - 1 shellacking would be a nice result. In all honesty, without David Dunn and Robbie Savage in the middle, B'rum is not nearly as imposing. Darren Carter is not bad and Stephen Clemence has good genes, but neither are in Hamann's or Gerrard's class. I am also praying that B'rum do have to rely on Martin Tayler instead of Upson in the center of defense. Just make sure that biggun doesn't slip through unmarked on a corner kick.
Pandiani (Pennant)
Hyppia (Riise)
Morientes (Finnan)
Smicer (unassisted)
