Newcastle United are interested in Rangers midfielder Shota Arveladze.
The Sunday Mail says Newcastle boss Graeme Souness is keen to sign the Georgia international when he comes off contract in June.
Ajax have also been linked with their former hitman who had success in Georgia with first club Dynamo Tblisi and Turkish outfit Trabzonspor.
Arveladze, 32, has told friends he would love a crack at the Premiership.
i duno what to say but.. "GET THE FARK OUTA MY CLUB"
wats the pooint... have him here for a year or two and then retire???

Might be better than some of the crap already at St James Park. And we would be getting him on a free. Which is always nice.

Free from Rangers? Souness always finds a way to pay too much for Rangers players. ;)

I reserve comment. The last two players linked with our club that I dumped on, Mido and Pandiani, both scored in their EPL debuts. I also touted Kezman as a replacement for Shearer. Eh, WTF do I know? Taxi for me!

:D I don't think he is anything that special. He has had a decent goalscoring record for Rangers, but I figure he would score half the goals he does in the EPL, if not less. On top of that, hes aging. I would rather see Milner get a go at the team than him, or we went out and got a real talent.

He is a striker as opposed to a midfielder. Not a bad scoring record, but I don't think he's EPL quality and I can't see why you would want him.

Exactly what I'm saying. But he plays for Rangers, so naturally souness thinks hes world class.

i dun think kezman even took the time to see what nufc is about...
who would.. when chelsea throws u a chunk of money???
i absolutly hate what chelsea is doin right now.. no offence.. but roman just supplies them with unlimited funds..
unlike liverpool manutd.. who actually gained all these money thru past success.. chelsea just got it... fell from heaven...

Disagree. This whole business of hating Chelsea is all wrong imo. They were lucky to be at the right place at the right time. Thats all man.

I agree, I really don't hate Chelsea for having the money. On the other hand I can't put into words the hatred for Man Utd and Sunderland!
