I think I remember there was some discussion of this earlier -- it's now official.

Good deal. Hopefully he can teach the young prospects that size is not all-important in becoming a good offensive player.

i think he was only like 5'9" or something like that, but he won damn near every header in the box he went up for. One of the best finishers in the history of MLS....

Good deal. Hopefully he can teach the young prospects that size is not all-important in becoming a good offensive player. And also, hopefully, personal dedication to becoming the best. I remember visiting United's original training facilities and seeing him running on the field long after the rest of the team had gone in from their practice session.

Good. Now maybe he will stop whining now about how he never got any respect. I was happy to see him leave DCU the second time. I'm also very happy that he has left my USL team, the Puerto Rico Islanders. Even though he was playing in the minor league, he was not very accessible. He still carried that chip on his shoulder.

Don't misunderstand me, I sincerely thank him for what he did for both but I got tired of that guy a long time ago. He is an MLS and ES Legend. No doubt. He gets mad props for that. But just like Sammy Sosa, he went from hero to close to zero with me. I have no patience for the Diva attitude. Diva attitudes are for chicks.

Hopefully he'll teach the kids to score, train hard and not teach them how to sulk when things don't go their way or they meet with adversity.

An update: he's now leading the U-17s into a French tournament (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=508272):

U.S. Under-17 assistant coach Raul Diaz Arce will lead the ‘91s through the tournament. Arce has named an 18-player roster for the trip, which includes a mix of players currently in U.S. Soccer’s Residency Program and players the coaching staff is looking at possibly inviting in for the next semester.Nice to see our guy getting more responsibility in our national structure.
