I was pleasantly surprised by it.

Although the production values and the banter between the two/three presenters were a bit stilted, the highlights, goals from multiple leagues, etc. were excellent.

I hadn't seen the Earnie Stewart goal previously and I enjoyed the other news snippets too.

Keep both on.

agreed...

i would prefer the total Sky Sports Show...
but as an alternative this actually is very well
put together... and its not broadcast out of LA..
with the college favorites Bretos,Miles, and Hopkins
some may say "they dont pronounce the names
right".... i dont care.... it is a quality broadcast
including a highlight real full of football delights..

we cant get the full Sky Sports fill... this is a
good alternative...

but please do not take Sky Sports off....
i watch this thing more than my local news...

anglophile... of course... and proud of it.

The BIG problem, generally, with Sky Sports News, is the absolute dearth of actual highlights and game action; generally speaking, these can be reduced to players clapping at the full time whistle. I belive that this is practically due to other stations holding the "highlights" rights. Secondly, Sky hardly ever shows highlights from other leagues (or at least does not broadcast them in the version we see!).

In the UK one channel gets thye rights to show highlights of Premier league matches on Saturdays. Sky Sports can only show highights of the mathces they actually aired. They do have the rights to highlights form the nationwide leagues and the conference. It drove me nuts when I lived over there. The highlights show called Match of the Day didn't come on until 9 or 10 p.m. they don't seem to think it a good idea to just give credit for the highlights ala ESPN. They want it exclusively.

I agree. At least it isn't showing those same two Toshiba commercials every five minutes.

It was OK. But I was hoping for more, actually all North American soccer with a little sprinkle of European and South American. Not another European/ South American highlight show. I also found the guy to be quite boring with alot of hesitation in his delivery. Kind of got the feeling that I was watching Sportcenter with the lack of heart put into it. The lady was better but, like the guy, seemed to lack the background knowledge of the games, league, and players in order for it to keep my attention. I like Max Bretos, but do get annoyed when he tries to talk about a subject or call a match that he apparently knows nothing about. This mainly was the case when calling US mens and youth team matches. But one reason I may be feeling this way was that I was hoping for a US/MLS/USL/College etc. soccer show.

They ran an ad a few days ago telling people that they recently ranked in the top 10 emerging cable networks (or something like that) by some industry publication.

I agree though, it seems like legitimate companies have been running ads during Sky Sports News and EPL: Guinness, Compaq, US Army, Carlsberg... Everything else seems to get ener-X, Magna Blue, and the guy who reads through tomatoes.

Oh man, you know you're a FSW junkie when you can instantly recognize the guy who reads through tomatoes ("Jeremy Parker here". is he supposed to be famous???)...I think that FSW is slowly but surely emerging from the shadows of the "For only $19.99 but that's not all.." era

Hey - Im sure Toshiba provided FSW with some much needed cash for those spots. Plus, they got a sponsor that did not use the words "male energy" in their ads - so Im not complaining.

I too would have liked to have seen MLS highlights from the playoffs sprinkled in with the highlights they did show.

There are probably TV rights issues? They did show some of the Ryder Cup though and that wasn't on FSW.

On the highlights they did show, I would prefer they show all the goals, instead of the "they were up 2-0 and .." and show the third goal. I am greedy, I want to see all the goals from all the matches. Before someone argues they don't have time, they repeated the B'Burn - WBA highlights and the Serie A highlights too. Eliminate any repeats and i bet they could show all the goals from the matches they did feature plus MLS if they had permission (paid) to do so.

Just noticed that Fox Sports World has been airing what appears to me to be a new program. It's a sports news report show, 1 hour in length in the same style as Sky Sports News or most any other sports news program. The anchors are both american and they just showed highlights from almost all of the Champions League matches for the day.

I've had FSW for about a year and a half now, and I don't remember seeing this show before, but its a nice addition to their lineup if it is new.

Wow..

tonight we had Champions League Highlights...
this show is growing on me...

for the naysayers... this show has been broadcast
for a while in Canada.. so its not going anywhere

dont expect MLS highlights... this is produced in
Canada... they tend to care less about MLS
footall than ESPN... so you college kids..dont
expect highlights...

as to a true world report... its pretty good...

sans the Bretos portion..... for the US youngsters.
im sure...

I though that FSW Report was a great addition to the channel. Having both Sky and FSW is very good IMO. News and highlights from England and Europe (Sky) and wells as news and highlights from Americas, Europe and World (FSW) is a good thing.

True. But they replaced it with CFL Commercials. Does anybody find them funny?

It's not terribly bad, but after watching the highlights from the champions league, the picture quality on them is terrible. I still like S.S. News better. The FSW show has too MANY world sports. I could really care less about some asian weightlifting event, really..come on now. Oh well, whatever workds.
