Rangers News:

Except for long-term injured Arthur Gnohere and Nick Culkin, everyone is somewhat fit. Marc Bircham and Matthew Rose each played 45 minutes in the reserves this week, so it may be too early for them to claim a starting spot. Kevin McLeod is back in training after suffering with laryngitis. According to the BBC, Dan Shittu, Gino Padula, Richard Edghill, Kevin McLeod and Paul Furlong all had a bug this week, but the official site makes no mention of it.

The Opponent:

Millwall sits two points and two places ahead of QPR, however, they've lost four of their last five, counting an FA Cup match.

Millwall's last six (most recent first):
H Wolves L, 1-2
A Forest W, 2-1
A Wolves L, 0-2 (FA Cup)
H Rotherham L, 1-2
A Watford L, 0-1
A Derby County W, 3-0

As for their injury status, according to the BBC:Millwall are hoping goalkeeper Andy Marshall will recover in time to play after a bout of viral meningitis and Graham Stack is out for six weeks.
Paul Ifill (ankle) may miss the rest of the season while Peter Sweeney (knee) is also likely to be out.The First Meeting:

1-1 at Loftus Road on 2 November. Barry Hayles gave Millwall the lead with a 50th minute goal; Paul Furlong equalized in the 87th to earn Rangers a point. Millwall went down to 10 men in the 66th minute when Adrian Serioux, frustrated that QPR players were trying to frustrate his long throw-ins (within the rules), threw the ball right at Lee Cook, earning a straight red.

The Series:

QPR trails -- 18-16-29. Before the first meeting this season, the clubs hadn't met since QPR wins in the 94/95 FA Cup and 93/94 League Cup. Their last season together in the League was 89/90, with Rangers earning a win at Millwall and a draw at home. That was Millwall's last season in the top flight. The teams first met in the 1899/1900 season.

The Referee:

Phil Crossley has been assigned. In 25 matches this season, he's issued 64 yellows and 5 reds. He's an up and comer who doesn't appear to have worked any QPR or Millwall matches. This is the first season that the majority of his matches have been in the Championship and he made his Premiership debut this season in the Norwich/West Brom meeting and worked the Portsmouth/Middlesboro match this past Tuesday.

Atouk, are you able to hear the commentary on QPR World? I can't get it to work, can't get anyone's to work.No. I got the first five minutes then it went out. I tried everything, even rebooting, just in case it was me. When I came back, I couldn't get QPR or Millwall, so I switched games. I couldn't get Sheff United, but got Ipswich's feed, so went back to our game. Nothing on QPR or Millwall (and nothing on Brentford when I went to see if theirs is working).

I also went to the audio-only portion of QPR World and got nothing from QPR or Millwall.

Just got the Ipswich feed to come up again, but no luck with ours or Millwall's.

FYI, for others checking in, Santos went into the book in the 36th minute. It's nearly halftime and still 0-0.

(and still no audio feed)

Millwall's Barry Hayles (a QPR target in the summer and the goalscorer for Millwall in our first meeting) was booked for a foul on Richard Edghill two minutes into extra time in the first half. And that's it...

Thorpe and Rowlands on, Cureton and Ainsworth off in the 58th minute. We had shots by Furlong and Thorpe in the next two minutes. Still 0-0.

According to posts on the official site boards, the World people respond to emails by saying server problems are causing feeds for many teams to disconnect and they're trying to fix it.

Is it still 0-0 ???

The commentator says we were "very unlucky" not to get a penalty call when Furlong was fouled in the box.

Thorpe is coming out, Rose on. Likely means Thorpe is re-injured. I wonder if we'll put Rose in midfield and whether Santos and/or Gallen will go up top.

FULL TIME

A well-earned point for the R's. We were at least as good and probably a bit better today. We seemed to have more dangerous chances and a legit call for a penalty.

7 points from 3 matches (2 away). Not bad at all. Come on, you R's!

The Leeds result brings them even with us on points and ahead in the table via goal difference. That drops us to 11th. A win would have moved us up to 9th, even with Millwall (8th) on points. With 44 points, we're three points ahead of Crewe and Stoke with 41 in 12th and 13th. Next week's opponent, Preston, at 49 points, is five points (and goal difference) ahead of us for the last play-off spot. A win for the R's at Loftus Road next Saturday would be pretty big.

News from the match report on the official site (http://www.qpr.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Match/MatchReport/0,,10373~27127,00.html) -- it was Cook, rather than Furlong, taken down in the box in the closing moments and they deemed the withdrawal of Thorpe as "either tactical or precautionary" as they saw no harsh tackle on Thorpe.

How cool is this, from the Rivals match report:

"On came the half time entertainment, children plucked from both ends of the ground to compete against each other in a half time shoot out. Millwall seemed to have rigged the whole thing by picking the smallest QPR fans they could find, and the biggest keeper in the ground to fill the tiny net but the Hoops triumphed against the odds and the away fans cheered their triumphant children back to the away end as the teams emerged for the second half."
