See. Just because he has said that. Doesnt mean it will happen. Some great managers have tried to sort out our defence. But they couldnt.
Ps. I would rather get beat than watch a boring draw.

I think he means what he says... that doesn't mean that we are in for boring football in the long term.
Chelsea didn't look too exciting at the beginning of this season. Remember the days of "1-nil to Chelsea"? That didn't last very long.
Souness has got some new talent in on defense and he's telling them that they're responsible for the rest of the season: Boumsong, Babayaro, and Faye. Our defense has been atrocious and we've got to win some games no matter how ugly.
He's also adjusting to the reality that without Bellamy we don't have the firepower that we once did. We're not as likely to win those 4-3 shootouts.
He's given Ameobi a couple of games, and I think he'll give him a couple more (I think), before he gives up and starts Shearer and Kluiver t up top.

As if I didn't already know that he was going to sacrifice our style. We are in for boring football, at least from our perspective. Maybe the other team won't be so boring though. Just have a look at the Arsenal matches, when we play a decnet team we are going to just try and sit back and keep them from scoring. However, we desperately need some points,so I don't mind a few games like that. But really we should only have to paly that way againts 3 teams, definately not againts teams like Man City.
And how does Souness think we should have beaten Man City? We had 1 shot on goal.

Your having a laugh sunbeam. Now that Welsh twat has gone Souness can play his prefered strike force of Big Al and Paddy K.

I'd hope so, but he seems to be serious about giving Ameobi a shot.

You might have anticipated a boring game from lineup he chose.
Still a big Laurent Robert fan.

I used to love Laurent, and I think he can be brilliant at timse. But he is worse than Bellamy, when he is out on the pitch he only gives 50%, and I can't imagine he gives much more in training. Nothing frustrates me more than his horrendous corners and free kciks. He can't cross a blal anymore, and it seems his attitude on defence is poor. I just wish he could play to his potential, he could be lethal.

Wins come with a good defense. Looks like things are getting better as a couple clubs now have worse GA than Newcastle.

Why?
1. He's lazy.
2. He's French.
3. He's a twat.

Boumsong should turn out to be a great buy. He has great attributes but is going to need another decent center half next to him so you probably won't see his best until next season.
It's alright to say you are going to defend and admittedly the signings of Boumsong and Faye would give that indication but things often turn out differently on the pitch, what really Souness requires is keeping the midfield behind the ball but I don't think he has the personel inclined for that. A rigid two banks of four is how to keep from conceeding goals and that's going to take more transfers in and out.

See man. NUFC attack. Thats why i pay £500 for my season ticket. I would rather watch a truly spectacular game of football and get beat. Than watch a boring 0-0. Because lets face it we are the dogs bollox going forwards.

Have we ever tried slotting Taylor as centerback? Now that Carr's back, he can replace Bramble. Could be worth a try if he hasn't played there yet.

All the Managers seem to love Titus ' who ate all the pies ' Bramble. I'm looking forward to next season. Thats the time we will take the Premier Leage by storm.

True but you are the dogs crap when the other teams counter attack. It's going to take some time to get it right, not that I think Souness will, but either you get in two other 10 million plus defenders or else you hold that midfield line and bring in another big name striker for Patrik next season.
We like to go forward to, and attack attack attack but with Toure Cole and Cambell we've enough to cover, all you've got is Boumsong and MAYBE Baby, I hear you about attacking but if you want to make europe and the extra cash for transfer you need the four and four infront or you're screwed and you will need that cash.
