ok, i know it doesn;t start until feb 17th, but i'd figure i would start the thread b/c i came across this amusing article. so the kiwi's plan to use mr. mustache to beat them!
i never knew NZ wore brown and tan uniforms in the 80's btw. they will be wearing these retro ones again for the series opener, a 20/20 game.
kiwi's urged to let their hair down (http://usa.cricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/CRICKET_NEWS/2005/FEB/175213_NZ_03FEB2005.html)

the First ODI was last night, and seemed to be an exciting one.
Aussies won by 10 runs, 8 balls to spare with McGrath bowling not too bad, 4-16 (sarcasm, as thats pretty awesome).

hayden returned getting 71, ponting with 61, and Symonds 53. btw hayden took back his opening spot for clarke, who had no runs off 5 balls. will this shatter clarkes confidence?

Now that AUS has won the 1st three games (and the 5-game ODI series), what odds they lose the last two and end up 3-2 against the Kiwis ???
History has a habit of repeating itself with this team, in this position.

:)Jeez I was wrong.
Toss was won by AUS with Gillie (acting captain) sending in the Kiwis to bat first, Australia was to chase.
Results are as follows:
NZ 10 wickets for 233 (49.5 overs)
AUS 3 wickets for 236 (34.2 overs).
AUS won by 7 wickets. Series is now 4-0, with one more ODI game to go !!!
Hope the Kiwis do better at the full (Test) version of the game, with that series still to come.

Awesome batting display from the Aussies today, especially Ponting and Gilchrist. New Zealand had no answer to the pace of Brett Lee, (hope the test selectors are taking note) and their bowling lacks class apart from Vettori. Hard to make a case for the Kiwis making much impression in the test series, especially with Fleming out of form and Cairns unavailable for test matches.

AUS (1st innings) 432 all out in 123.2 overs & (2nd innings) 135 for 1 wicket in 31.3 overs.
AUS wins by 9 wickets, and leads series 1-0.
Warne got stuck in with another 5 wicket haul in the Kiwi second innings.
Guess the Kiwis need to improve in this form of the game also. :o

Don't forget that New Zealand are facing the best bowling attack in world cricket at the moment. Even Brett Lee can't get in the starting XI.

What can we not bat properly ever?Because your team spends more time making up excuses instead of playing proper cricket and fixing up your own team problems.

There's still plenty of time for Australia to get 10 wickets to win this game, provided it doesn't rain tomorrow.

OK, so willing to payoff my million dollar winning sum? :DYeah, the fortune of weather cuts boths ways.
You can take your million dollar payoff out of my billion dollar winnings you owe me for the rain-marred Indian draw. :p
FWIW the rain won this one, but it was a close call for NZ who may not have lasted a full session more.
AUS 570-8
NZ 244 & 48-3 (17.2 overs).
Game drawn, AUS leads series 1-0 with 1 test to go.
