January window didnt see too many new additions.. 2 left.. 3 came..
hope we get more in summer...
would think we need 1 or 2 decent defenders... so ill like 2 c Coloccini, Kuffour

Since out wide players rnt doin too well with robert's form like a roller coaster and dyer not really shining .... so i will like to see wilhelsson, malbranque, SWP

since we lost bella, dun think he will be back, and shearer will be hanging his boots at the end of the season.... ill like to see alan smith, eider gudjohnson (since they seem to have fallen down the pecking order in their respective clubs) also vassell or robbie keane would be nice... althou i know most of the strikers listed are a little hard to obtain

Gudjohnson starts almost every game for Chelsea...

Like I said at the beginning of the season, this team needs to replace SBR, Speed and Shearer adequately. We can all agree that this has not happened. In addition, the center of the defense is awful. We need to see if Boumsong can live up to the hype or is another Paddy the K. Also, Shay Given can't be too long for the team if the defense stays this bad. No matter when his contract is up (06 or 08??) he'll be gone by December and Big Bad Brad Friedel will be in the net. Bowyer, Dyer, Jenas and ?? Not a terribly exciting midfield, even if JJ keeps getting the callups for Engerland. Mark these words. This team will be starting a completely different 11 from the close of last season in a year. Whether it will be good enough to stave off relegation, we shall see.

Thx,

Jay!

im not a big favourite of souness's team at blackburn
sir bobby kept this team young.. and for the future... the likes of ameobi jj dyer milner ambrose...
it was a exciting team up until souness came in..
i just hope he sticks to young talents, rather than introducing players in their 30s thinking that they have experience and can keep us in the league..

Erm. You never ever ever win anything with kids. I mean Sir Red Nose didnt start his Man Utd revolution off with kids.

ps. If you have to think about that, then your daft. Simple as that.

hmmm.

Souness' Blackburn: Not excited by Duff? You must be a cadavar. They had an excellent team.

SBR and young talents: SBR brought in Bowyer, Butt, and Kluivert. Spring chickens! You are questioning Souness' willingness to go with youth while ignoring 30+ year-old gaffs.

NUFC before Souness: They were a hell of a lot more exciting the first four games of this season weren't they! Oh, you mean in previous years? Well, last year they had a player named Jonathan Woodgate in defense and Gary Speed in the middle. Class talents in key spots. Hmmm, maybe Souness isn't to blame for this mess?

Who is Coloccini?

I like Alan Smith. He's a fighter and a pretty decent goalscorer. I don't see him wanting to leave Old Trafford, though, unless he doesn't get any playing time at all behind RVN, Saha, and Rooney in the next few months. If Crystal Palace gets relegated, I think we should put in a bid for Andrew Johnson. He's similar to Bellamy (in terms of pace and stature), except he doesn't whine as much and he puts in more work on the field.

Jeez, all of a sudden I've become Souness fan #1.

Honestly folks, he was not my first choice. Or my second. Truth is I was hoping for Gordon Strachan (really I was). But looking at the current team and their troubles, I don't think he can be blamed.

What's more I think that he ought to get a shot to see what he can do. So far I think he's made some positive moves.

The Bernard thing is past us. Bellamy was a great player (when he wasn't injured) and a real pain in the ass. We can get a class replacement for him.

We can get rid of the whinners and loafers... to do that we need a coach who has no patience for whinners and loafers. Any one come to mind?

Edit: That was a rhetorical question people!

I think we all would've liked to see Newcastle pick up Alan Smith. Wish he'd come straight from Leeds. And Duff too. (pre-Chelsea)

We're probably not going to buy top talent from a top team-- far too expensive.

I think he's made some very positive moves as well. He should be given, at the very least, until after the summer when he has had time to get rid of all the cancers (Bellamy, Robert, maybe Dyer, etc.) and bring in his own type of players. If things are going well then, keep him. If they aren't, that is when people should start to talk about sacking him. He hasn't done anything yet that should warrant him being sacked.

One player I'd like to see Newcastle go after is Philip Lahm.

He's at Stuttgart-- plays defense on the left. Had an incredible Euro 2004. I think he's owned by Bayern Munich. Have no idea what he would cost, but he's 21-22 years old. Real class.

Smith may be available, gotta figure SAF will want to open up the books a bit and bring in help in other areas. They have enough forwards there to afford losing one I should think. Hate to see Shearer hang em up.

Is Wayne Bridge getting a lot of minutes at Chelsea?

They lost 166 million last year or something? Maybe they will part with some talent?

I've been impressed with him as well. He would probably cost a good bit, though. I heard that Bayern Munich were planning on recalling him from his loan next season.
