Well, I also wondered; who is this Mahdavikia fella? So I did a little search on him and, à ma grande surprise, this season alone i.e. 2004/2005 not last season, he has thumped in an astonishing 2 goals in 15 appearances, and, in the process, got sent off twice too.
I know that this thread is titled "Transfer Rumors, Lies, and Other Nonsense, part II" but, methinks, the "Lies, and Other Nonsense" bit is being taken too literally.

go look at the records of HArry kewel lol he is a attacking player and hes scored like 15 goals in his carrer in europe lol.........
anyway Liverpool is ganna get F.u.c.k.e.d up the a.s.s by chelsea in about 3 hours time.................HAHAHAHAHHAHA :D

DID LIVERPOOL OFFER MAHDAVIKIA ?This brings two quick questions to mind:
1) Are you the same asswipe who shows up on our boards every December and May telling us we are linked to some Iranian tool, and how talented he is, and how he's a can't miss prospect? Or are there like 7 of you in a cupboard somewhere, and you all take turns badgering us?
2) Is this Mahdaviawakanohania the same Iranian player you (or your doppelganger) tried to pawn off on us last winter, and last summer, etc.? I am pretty sure we established that he was crap each time, and I'm wondering what he has done in the interim that might change our opinion? Maybe one of his two goals for Hamburg this campaign were real crackers.
All that said, as long as he has two legs and isn't in a wheelchair, I think we'd be willing to do a straight swap for Diouf. You should really ring up Rafa. I know you must think we all have a direct line to his office or something, but alas . . .

Of course, if you're going to draw comparisons between this Iranian kid and players already on our roster, next time you might try choosing one that we actually like, and DON'T want to see booted from the club at the earliest opportunity.

I'm not sure if this kid, De Ridder, from Ajax is any good? Do u think Rafa would be having a look at him. IMHO, the dutch leagues always seem to produce good wing players...so maybe have a look?

Sounds like he's a done deal to Tottenham. Martin Jol seems to be popular with the Dutch players.

Right the **** on! Add that cash to whatever his budget was supposed to be and whomever he sells like dioa and diuf and maybe kewell. Rafa can buy a small country if he wants. Of course, maybe parry just keeps the cash instead but i hope not.
We dont need no stinking stevie sale. I still think rafa will try to include players in most transfer deals, directly or indirectly, to keep the cost down, so for 30 million pounds he could get 6-8-10 class act players.
and furthermore i better get back to work this stupid earning a living interferes with following the reds. i hate that part lol.

I'm tired of Kewell. I remember a few years ago when he played so well for Leeds against Arsenal. I haven't seen that out of him once in a Liverpool shirt. I'm ready to be rid of the following: Kewell, Diouf, Diao, Kirkland, and Vignal. I also think Baros may go--Morientes and Cisse will be, I think, first choice as forwards, and I'm not sure Baros has the temperament to sit the bench.
Regardless of who we sell, we have to bring in several players. We need a 3rd center back, another right winger, and a left winger. I'm not sold on Nunez as a replacement for Garcia, and there really isn't anyone to replace Riise. We also don't have a natural left or right back aside from Traore and Finnan. Frankly, I'm happy with Alonso, Gerrard, Hamann, and Biscan in the center. About the only place we have good depth, when everyone is healthy, is at forward and center mid.

SG also making nice noises about seeing the progress he wanted to see.I think we got 4 million more for making the final, and 2.5 on top of that if we win it. The 28 million pound number is close to the prize money we'll pull in for the entire CL season, but you're not counting gate revenue or advertising revenue. The number is probably more like 40ish.
THAT said, before you all get dollar signs in your eyes, we have to keep a number of things in mind. 1) Odds are we'll be seeing ZERO CL money next year, so we need to stretch what we've got to last us through 2007, at the earliest. 2) I believe Alonso, Moro, and part of Cisse were financed out of this year's CL money already. That drops us down from 40 to the neighborhood of 20. 3) If we are smart, we'll sock away some of it for the stadium. 4) Before every step we take this summer, we should ask ourselves "What would Leeds have done?", and then do the opposite. It is WAY too easy to sink a football club these days, and we are NOT above such a thing happening because of the name on our badge.
Long story short, even though our club coffers might look like Scrooge McDuck's vault at the moment, temperance should rule the day. We ought to finance nearly all the players we bring in with money from selling off the deadweight (of which there is plenty).
