i wasnt rooting for arsenal but fair is fair
that was penalty that wasnt given and
on last goal that was meaningless oshea way off sides
then they called offside on arsenal in first half and
announcer is making excuses for linesman because on replay
it wasnt even colse arsenal player on sides by 2 yards
man u is a fine club but gets little bit of help from league and it aint fair

I watched in in the pub so had no sound on, but O'Shea's goal didn't look offside to me. Also on the Bergkamp offside, he had already miscontrolled it.
Arseanl set the tone for cheating after 3 mins with the dive from Cole.

While the penalty probably should have been called, United supporters could complain that Reyes didn't get a call for hurling G. Neville to the ground as they both went for a ball heading out of bounds...I think Poll did a brilliant job in this game, especially when you see the footage in the tunnel beforehand. As for O'Shea, he wasn't offisdes and even if the Gooners had the penalty, they still wouldn't have won. I give credit to Bergkamp and Viera for excellent goals, but United have applied the pressure and are going all out to catch Chelski while Wenger and his group have a massive confidence issue now...should make the rest of the season very exciting...
Peace...

From the very start of the game, Arsenal was trying to fall down every chance they got. They figured they would get the calls. What about Ashley Cole at the very start? That was the worst thing I have ever seen. Let me see what else. Honestly, you have to see that it goes both ways and it evens out. This is jus the way it goes with these rivalry games. So, you can not say that Man U got the calls. The game was played at Highbury. All the Arsenal players said that United were the better side. So, to put this thread to bed. Thank you.

hey, how did you see the footage in the tunnel? Is it on the web? I didn't see it on ManU tv or on Fox Sports World during the game. Let me know.

Yes, it is one the web and you can download it via Bittorrent.
Courtesy of The Pirate Bay (http://thepiratebay.com/download.php/3284025/MOTD%20Part%201%20-%201st%20Feb%20-%20Arsenal%20v%20Man%20Utd%20Highlights%20-%20DivX.torrent)
This is the most complete version as it is part of the BBC "Match of the Day" program.
That has the entire tunnel *chat* with audio.
As for Man U getting all the calls...
we got one "no call", Silvestre on Pires in the box.
That should've been a penalty.
On the otherside there were a few Arsenal players that should have been called for diving, Mssr. Viera and Freddie beign the most obvious.

Can someone explain Rooney's wiping his cheeks to Pires? Was it supposed to be tears or something? I missed the point of that one.

I didn't think discussing a match and the results and such was whining...and why is an Everton supporter concerned about what we're discussing? I'd worry about the rest of the season for your lads... :)

can't agree more
when arsenal was fresh, full of energy, and clearly outlpaying Man-u.re , all manure could do was foul left and right. Once they had worn down the starters they were able to score quick off balance goals.
some of us see right through this dirty strategy.

Of course you clearly couldn't see all the fouling and diving by the guys in the red shirts. Good calls and bad calls both ways.
4-2 Eat that!

Boo hoo hoo
Considering Arsenal have the likes of Cole, Toure, Vieira, Pires, Ljungberg, van Persie and Bergkamp... Football is a contact sport. It is a physical game. It is a man's sport. Arsenal just didn't have the stomach for it.

Bergkamp wasn't offside, but nor was O'Shea. It was a fair result all-round though.

He may have miscontrolled it, but he kept possession and could have squared to Henry, who was bombing down the right, and I know I'm betting on even an out of form Henry one on one with Roy Carroll. Yes and Cole's dive was disappointing. I thought the penalty should have been given on Silvestres trip of Pires and it steams me that a major reason this wasn't called was Rooney's dive at OT. But even though we all hate ManUre and know they do get dodgy calls on a regular basis, we were hardly robbed like the last game. We just have to get tougher. It's sad that this is an issue, but ManUre know that if they don't foul us, a fresh and determined Arsenal will score on them every time. They know exactly how to beat us, and for ManU all that matters is winning no matter what the cost. Hopefully we draw them in the FA Cup and show them what we can really do.

Well, in all fairness, this is on the Premiership board and not the Arse/Man U boards. Therefore, I'm free to concern myself with whatever I want. And this is only about the 100th thread complaining about the calls made in Man U's favor.
I'm not worried about the rest of the season. We're gonna be just fine (for a change). :D
