La Volpe, Coach of the Mexican national team called all of CONCACAF ignorants. This took place after the draw with Sweden U23 in San Diego,Ca.
He said people in this area knew nothing about Futbol, and were more familiar to Baseball or American Football. He went on to talk about Guatemala and said there was no comparison in playing Sweden and Playing Guatemala. This guys really getting on my nerves now, I respected him at first but now I agree with Hugo Sanchez and think he would make a better coach.

OK........... I'll bite.
CONCACAF is weak no doubt about it, but this guy.............this guy Lavolpe has done much worse when he belittles his own players(in many different ways) disrespects people that have actually done something, threatens to quit.............etc. etc.
It leaves me to wonder why you had respect for him to begin with.

What an ignorant bastard. That's the stupidest...
...actually that's more or less correct. I'm not sure what his point is. Must make it especially aggravating when they lose to us anyway, which these days is most of the time.

It was the kind of respect you have for any human not for what he was doing.

Have always thought he was a douchebag. This just proves it. Three points for the US in Azteca, if hes still around for that.

I don't know why this guy still has a job. He is such an arrogant ********face. Last night I saw him being interviewed and he was bragging about their dominance in the first round of WCQ's.
Its fine with me if he keeps coaching Mexico though. Better him than Hugo Sanchez.

Your only saying that for guatemalas advantage!!! But if this guy wants to keep his job he must win!! So now I know what Hugo was talking about when he said after the qualifiers he will take control of El Tri maybe even before if were lucky enough!! I hope what La volpe said sinks into the Mexican players heads and realize that La volpe still has argentine arrogance in him!!!

I agree with MNTHUNDER on this one. As a hardcore US supporter, I WANT LAVOLPE TO CONTINUE TO COACH EL TRI. It's better for us. I don't think that he has what it takes to successfully manage our rivals. I don't think that he can handle the scrutiny of the Mexican press. I don't think that he has the energy to constantly keep looking over his shoulder for Hugo Sanchez.
I've said it on this website before. LaVolpe is just one "bad" result away from really resigning or being fired--like the US finally winning in Azteca next month--that would do it...
I really don't care what LaVolpe says. I must admit that I find the whole LaVolpe-Sanchez-Federation-Publico love/hate/more hate festival to be more entertaining than any Mexican novela (soap opera) that I have ever seen.

No. A lot of those are fake, so I don't find them very entertaining 'coz I'm not down with Dupont. I prefer the real deal. The legs are hot, though.

La Volpe should shut his mouth and stick to what he knows best, which is playing guitar for Black Sabbath.

Just as a side note, when was it that Enrique Meza was fired in 2001? Was it right after the US game, or after a couple more results? I seem to remember Aguirre taking over right before the second US-Mexico match that year, but really can't remember. Anyone?
I believe that if we win in Azteca, LaVolpe is deported... Maybe even if we pull of a tie again, I dunno...

Meza got fired after the match against Honduras at San Pedro Sula.

Don't worry guys, LeVolpe wil get fired after the FEB9th, and then they will start a reality show (like big brother vip 4) to hire the new coach.

let me clear something up here...Now I would love to have Hugo as coach but I do have to clear up wat lavolpe said...
he called the fans in the US ignorant because the US is not a futbol only country...they do have the famous NFL, MLS, NBA etc etc and therefore people here dont follow soccer as much as they do in mexico or argentina or england...they dont know the difference in a game between mexico vs sweden and mexico vs guatemala....they dont know that there is a diff in level of play...that is what he meant to say
but yea lavolpe is a ************ and u can see that hes arrogant argentine ways are the same....
I would never ever want mexico to lose in the azteca just so Hugo can take over....because then US fans will shower us with ******** like they have been just cuz theyve gotten lucky the last few games....
but yea...HUGO for DT after quali would be atodamadre
