FOOTBALL: GUNNERS TO GET SHIRTY

ARSENAL are hiring a team of security guards to keep a round-the-clock watch over their new Emirates Stadium to make sure builders don't bury Tottenham shirts under the pitch.
High-ranking club chiefs don't want construction workers who support their arch-rivals having the last laugh by littering their £300million new home with Spurs artefacts.
They have been made aware that Portsmouth fans buried shirts and scarves in Southampton's new St Mary's Stadium while it was being built a couple of years ago.
An Arsenal source said: "It's impossible to vet workmen to discover which team they support.
"And it would be impossible to kick them off the job even if they did admit to being Spurs supporters.
"But we don't want our new home becoming a laughing stock by our rivals getting up to games or tomfoolery.
"We have guards keeping an eye on things."
