I realize that a similar thread was posted roughly a month ago. But I'll pose the question again.

Thats if things to well enough. Also, Everton is going to have to drop some points but yea overall, fourth is a realistic prediction. Enough to get into Europe again.

I was going to put a poll on here but my connection screwed up. During the New Year's program I would have said that we had a shot at catching Manure or Arse but we dropped so many points after the Norwich game that it's virtually impossible now.

Just a humorous prediction... Realistic? Who knows? But it sure was fun to write... grin...

A “Second” Surprise…

With notable wins over Arsenal, Everton, and Newcastle the Reds assure themselves of a surprise second place in the Premiership…

For the Arsenal side, it must be a joy to finish a disappointing season… the coup de gras of their doomed run at a repeat championship coming at the hands of arch-rivals Manchester United. The costly injury to stalwart Sol Campbell proving too costly to their “holey-defense.”

“Who’d a thought that we’d be calling for “The Wanker” to be sacked… by the end of the season.,” lamented one distraught fan. It must be said, however, that no one foresaw the unfortunate demise of Arsene Wenger… The infamous “food incident” assumed responsible for his historical collapse in the second half of the 2004/2005 season.. “I guess he just lost his edge, after the outing of his food-fetish,” said another despondent fan, “It’s strange what the football press can do to a bloke…”

Still it was a Pyrrhic victory for Manchester United as they soon found themselves afoul of resurgent control by Premiership referees. “We simply got tired of being blamed for putting up with outrageous behavior from players who thought they could act with impunity if they were from certain clubs…” said one ruffled Ref. “After the third ManU-Arse farce, we decided that we simply must lay down the law… Hey! That’s off the record.”

Subsequent multiple game bans for the red-card bookings of Rooney, Keane, Ferdinand, and Christiano Ronoldo, helped stymie the nascent second half surge of Ferguson-led Manchester United. A last-minute loss to relegation-bound West Brom due to an injury-time penalty doomed Manchester to a third place this year.

“Rrrahhrgghhh… errrahrgeerr…See my nose! Man… Uuurre Reeedddd… theyyy saaiiiddd…. Rrraghhre…” Ferguson was quoted as saying in response to the surprise Premiership finish…

That said it is still to be determined if a modified, fast-paced, Latin approach to the English game will prove transformative to the Premiership… and no one, even Benitez is willing to subscribe to this outright, “we must be patient… we have a good plan… our fans should be patient, but I am confident we will achieve success…”
