While usually blind as a bat, Arsene is now suddenly seeing things (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/headlinenews?id=323515&cc=5901) everywhere. Well, at least ones dealing with the supposed Ashley Cole meeting.

Apparently its our responsibility to deny idle media speculation. But then again, it seems Arsene has gone a bit paranoid on us:

However, Wenger fears that Chelsea may have broken the code of conduct between leading clubs, seeing similarities with Real Madrid's aggressive pursuit of Patrick Vieira over recent seasons.

'I feel like I am in a film I have seen already. The scenario of what is going on, I could have written it one year ago,' he added.

'Of course, this has happened before in England. But I feel there is a code of conduct between the big clubs in England.

'If Chelsea want Ashley Cole, they just have to find our number, and they have enough intelligent people to find it, and to call us to ask to speak to him.

'But I feel that this is tactically very bad. By doing this kind of behaviour, they only pay more.'

At least he's seeing things for once. I honestly don't see what his complaint can be. If he wants things sorted out, then surely Cole is the person he should be dealing with?

We don't want Vieira though. Come on Wenger, it's completely different. :D

Wenger seeing things is shocking to me!!!! This is the same man who "didn't see food flying at SAF in the tunnel after the last match with us" ;)

Wenger's just responding to media speculation, and if there's an alledged meeting between Cole and Chelsea, then it's up to the participants to dismiss those allegations. Cole (thru his agent) already has. Given all the grief that Real Madrid have caused us, I can understand his feelings.

Gotta love the comment about Chelsea having intelligent people who can manage to use a phone book. ;)

"the Arsenal boss concluded that 'it looks to me like, yes, it has happened, although I don't know [for sure]'."

Proving Wenger has a great rapport with Ashely Cole and his players

"Wenger seemed to intimate that Cole, who has two and a half years left on his Arsenal contract, may have been unwittingly lured into a meeting with Chelsea by so-called `super-agent' Pini Zahavi."

Wenger could always try to lure him back with a bag of sweets and a lolipop non?

Yah, it's almost as funny as if he had said something like "we have people at Arsenal that are intelligent enough to pick up the phone and find out if a meeting ever happened before we say stupid things to the press"
