Bridge would be nice, but it's never going to happen. Scott Parker gets a nosebleed anywhere north of Swiss Cottage so he's not coming to us. The others, well ... Aimar I would enjoy, but I don't know enough about the others to make a judgement. You hadn't even heard about Evra until it was mentioned to you in the other thread, so how he can already be on a "buy him" list is beyond me. Not even Graeme Souness is that slapdash with signings. ;)

He is indeed a very good CB and i share with you the disappointment. But perhaps signing a CB is not a priority as Rafa trust our current players.

Perhaps the fact that he has the pace of a snail (and we already have a number of noteworthy, but slow central defenders) contributed to the decision.

If we spend 3m anythings on a central defender, he needs to be athletic enough to complement - not resemble - Jamie Carragher or (especially) Sami Hyppia.

The last thing we need right now is a CB. This is my list of priority positions for the summer. Let's assume that Gerrard fulfills his contract.

1. RM
2. GK (we'll probably sell Dudek and possibly Kirkland, and Carson will not be starting at this point.)
3. ST (Baros might leave and with one more we could have a second-level striking group of FSP and-fill in name here- with a first choice of Cisse and Moro.

We shouldn't be focused on CB's right now.
