Everton vs Fulham

Everton smacked Fulham today in order to keep there home unbeaten record in tact. Goals by Campbell and Graverson late in the first half gave Everton the three points they deserved.
Respect at home has been Evertons demise over the years and it looks as though Moyes has finally got us home field advantage again.
Radz has also manage to find himself on the unlucky side of the post.
Yobo made his firt start for the Blues and impressed by playing a solid game.

It's good to see Everton play well at home, but just as important in my mind is that we show some improvement on the road.

After a nice win at Sunderland in the 2nd week, the Toffees have lost 3 straight away matches.

And unless Moyes is able to get the team to play better on the road, I'm concerned Everton may end up the season with something similar to last year's dismal 3-6-10 away game record and the team will again be fighting to avoid relegation at the end of this season.

Your absolutely right VW yet if we can take 40 points at home this season then we wont have to wory about relegation. Something we didnt have last season.Even if we dont improve our away record at all we will still end up with 59 points far from relegation. Yes we need to improve our away record but if we arent struggling for points maybe this will eventually help us on the road.
Our biggest problem has been our defence last in the league, but from the looks of Yobo yesterday and if Wright can pull it together then maybe Moyes may turn that corner on that aspect of our game.

Everton will be doing awfully well if they can earn 40 pts at home this season. Last season, the only clubs to take 40 pts at home were Arsenal, Liverpool and West Ham United.

Interestingly, each team that finished in the upper half of last season's standings also was among the top 10 teams in earning points at home. And the 5 teams with the best away points records finished in the top 5 places of the EPL table.

I think we will do well this year, I mean well by Everton standards, finally ending up in the top half of the table, providing we can stay healthy. I expect Radz and Campbell to have a good year, with Rooney and Ferguson to fill in when needed. Our mid field is our week spot. I felt better about it when Rodrigo was in but now its turned weaker than our defence, which should improve with Yobo.
We still need a good midfielder as well as another defender.

Our main problem with midfield is the right wing. Alexanderson has been awful and consequently dropped for the Fulham game. Carsley struggled and we have very few other options if we are to play a 442 formation. However, if we switch to 433 with Rooney as a third striker our midfield gets swamped, especially at away matches. Tie Li is good but can't stamp any authority on the opposition.

40 points for Everton at home? You must be dreaming. Thats something like 12-4-3. Ain't gonna happen. 32 points (9-5-5) would be an achievement. Take 20 points (4-6-9) on the road and we score more than 50 points for the first time in 7 years which should secure a 9th-11th place finish.

Your right about our Mid field but I think over the next month and Li get his feet wet a bit more I think he will put a stamp on his place. As far as our Home win record I still think we will onlybe beaten by Arsenal and maybe United but Im not sure of that. We might end up with more draws than I expect but if they play with the Confidence they have been at home they will be hard to beat this season at Goodison.
