I was glad I talk my extra neighbor to take vacations in argentina
She is single mother of 2.... two guys that love soccer, the left for a tour of argentina from cordoba to bariliche, couple of day in south chile and end of trip in Montevideo...

here is her tale: el monumental is GREAT and clean, very impressed with the school for kids they run days in week days (not just soccer but the academic par of it) Nice areas, lush green and trim areas with gardens and trees

BUT, the disapointment came when they went to la Bombonera, filty and dirty areas, not well care for and very, very, very sad to see how an ICON of futbol could be ran down to the ground...... No point to compare both.
she was at 'el caminito' and barrio la boca: super cool! nice and safe
I got my present: the full set -kit- of boca juniors jersey, I guess practice or away uniform. Blue shorts and socks with emblem and some yellow, the jersey is nike, like this one (on the back no name, buy the word BOCA)

Bariloche is the best in her counts
Puerto Mont a nice, calm place to retire and enjoy life
The wine in cordoba just plain the BEST
Montevideo a 'city that decided not to stay with the 21st century', everything looks old.

Monomario....I know you traveled last month those areas, what's your story?

I dont really want to start a new thread about this, but Im probably going to be doing a 'study abroad' program through my college next year to study in Buenos Aires at La Universidad de Belgrano (Im a Spanish major). I cant wait to get down there (still a year away! :( ) - its going to be a lot of fun, I hear the city is great and I plan on going to see at least one game at Estadio Monumental.

If anyone has any kind of tips at all for me about the city, that would be welcome, even though the trip is still far away.

It kind of surprises me if it were true because I thought it would be the other way around. Remember when Macri got to be president of Boca he remodeled the stadium ??? It was less than 10 years ago I think.

Che LeoRiver...do me a favor and don't go! :p

For me, it's been too long 1991 - I must go back---I'm planning for this summer...it may just coincide with the WCQ against Brasil...

Someone wanted a recommendation of what to do in Bs.As. EAT! Pipo's (pasta and other dishes), los inmortales (pizza) (although I like las cuartetas (spelling?), this place in chacarita, i forget the name where they serve milanesa al principe (for some reason i thin it's Principe di Napoli....uh bad memory)....oh well....

Where did you get that "La Barra Brava" phrase? The only time i have ever heard it before was in Lima, Peru (Miraflores). There is bar there with the same name. Great place to watch futbol!!! I reccomend if somehow find yourself in Lima.
