What no love for Mark Knopfler?
He's from Newcastle isn't he?

BTW Toon-Man,
I think that the song is actually titled "Going Home [Theme from Local Hero]"
The film "Local Hero" was directed by Bill Forsyth and is well worth checking out. It came out in the early 1980s. It might have been Burt Lancaster's last movie. The star of the film is American Peter Riegert-- you might remember him from Animal House. He does a great job in the leading role.
Also, I've got to disagree with MelB about the song. The entire soundtrack album is pretty good. The theme song is actually abit atypical of most of the album, which is filled with a lot of traditional Scottish stuff. (The movie is set in northern Scotland.)
