I am sure all Reds fans will join me in wishing Stephane Henchoz well, as his move to Celtics has apparently been finalized. It is unfortunate that his last year was so distasteful to him, but he was a real soldier for the club for a solid four seasons before that.

Not the most graceful player - he tackled well and before he lost that last yard of pace - he kept us from being counterattacked so badly when Markus Babbel and John Arne Riise pushed forward into the attack. Without his strength in the back, even Sami Hyppia would have looked a lot more vulnerable during our great run from 00/01 - 02/03. He was a handy (in more ways than one) defender to have in the squad.

It sorrows me that he will never score his first goal for the club.

Yes, I wish him all the best, hope he does well for Celtic. Although idn't it only a loan until the end of the year? But i'm sure if he does well enough, Celtic might want to buy him off of us after the season is over

I did notice it was only a short-term contract, but for some reason assumed that his with us was expiring after this season. Even if that is not the case, I am sure Celtic will spring for him for the transfer fees that I have heard being bandied around, providing he fits in well at the club.

I wish him well...and although it was inevitable that he would be gone at some point, I'm not fan of these circumstances.

I wish him the best also. I used to call him the quiet man, he used to clean up after Sami without a fuss.
Half of a formidable pair in defense.

I thought that he did get a goal, it was a miss hit into the turf the went over the goalie. Who remembers who....????

Alternative LFC investigates claims that Armageddon could be just a kick away, after the shock of Stephane Henchoz's goal against Celtic. Surely now anything is possible.

Last night soothsayers and doomsday experts were calling from the onset of Armageddon after the goal by Stephane Henchoz in last night’s pre-season friendly against Celtic.

He always managed to look like he'd sprinted half a mile, even before the match started!!!

People forget his goal line clearance in the 2001 FA Cup Final.

I was there!

It's too bad about him leaving. I guess picking up Carson made him, as our third-best keeper, expendable.

Not the Arsenal fans I bet. Whoever said he was a "handy" defender was spot on the money there! :D

Seriously though, I wish him all the best with his career and hope he does well at Celtic.

So was I -- actually I remember a Lanky guy next to me -- but at least he won't have to learn any new songs --- the Fields and YNWA.

We will always remember the FA Cup and its heroes SH and little Mikie. I wish him a fair wind always at his back -- unless he lines up against DCU or LFC.

I would rather have him stay and play instead of Pelegrino. Can't always have what you want, certainly not with Liverpool so I wish him the best.

What was Rafa's beef with Henchoz anyway?

That's what I was trying to get at earlier. Apparently no one knows.

Experts estimate that one in eight milkmaids will contract udder dermatitis on her hands. This is highly contagious. The other seven are likely to fall off their milking stools because of a design fault.

Yeah, I do that when I don't understand what Stig is saying, too.
