View Full Version : So technically, we haven't really spent a cent this window??

I guess we have done fairly well in the signings we have got, with only a few costing small fees, but where is the star power we need.

I like the guys we got, but I was expecting maybe a little more ahem, *immediate help*.

Call me an old-school impatient Spurs fan, but I'm a bit dissappointed in this window, it was hyped up to be a big one for us and it hasn't happened. It looks unlikely we will get anyone else as well, (ignoring the usual rumour whoring that gets our hopes up 99.9% bull btw).

Still holding out for Routledge or SWP ;) , but feel very confident in Davies if he is fit  , but not sure if he will ever be the same .

Yeah we have done very very well, We hardley spent anything (if anything) and we have already signed about 4 players? hopefully more good signings to come and mabey in the summer we'll buy Reid, Routledge or Van Bommel or someone else good.

Just console yourself with the fact many of your signings are being done by the guy who bought RONALDO and Robben. Its all for the future.

Give it until February 1st, they are still working away.

As it is, it's very difficult to sign top players in this january window as virtually every club in the continent are still either wary of relegation or looking towards qualifying for Europe / winning trophies. No point paying too far over the odds for someone when they'll be a fraction of the price in the summer.

I dislike Mido, as I've routinely stated, but he is an extremely talented target forward, along the lines of an on form Kanoute. That was a major upgrade in talent ... I just hope it wasn't an even bigger downgrade in team chemistry.

I'm a big Simon Davies fan, and here's hoping he finally returns to his form of a few years back.

i think someone on another thread said it best, the era of signing has-been big names and gonna-bes is over. frank has an eye for talent and i see us moving in the "other north london" club route. we're not going to be spending £20 on a player ever, rather signing these unheard of players and building a very solid team.

i'm rather glad we didn't go out and make big splashy acquisitions, it shows a greater level of maturity and patience on the part of the people in charge.
