I don't know how things are on the other side of the pond. But here in yankland, IMHO, the charity market is satured for cheap bracelets for various causes.

Why not do a scarf?

Oh. When I saw the headline I thought you meant that Henry took performance enhancing drugs and lied about it. It's just bracelets then.

I was thinking yesterday, why didn't they do tsunami bracelets?

Oops, no figurehead like Lance Armstrong to attach to it.

Certain countries have representatives on the initiative: Claude Makelele and Philippe Mexes for France, Rio Ferdinand and Ruud van Nistelrooy for England, Adriano and Fabio Cannavaro for Italy, Roberto Carlos and Carles Puyol for Spain, and Otto Addo and Christoph Metzelder for Germany.

When did he emigrate? I bet you lot in England are a bit miffed about this one!!!

Was I the only one that thought this thread was going to be about the de-testiculation of a certain Thierry Henry?

Nah. Here in Yankville where every other person wears one of those stupid bracelets, that's probably what he's more associated with these days.

Wow, What a great idea to think of Henry. A world class player doing the world of soccer/football a favor.

I was hoping the previous post used sarcasm, then I noticed United States in the location...

The most shocking aspect of this, is what Blatter says at the bottom of the article. It actually makes some sense!

I watched a clip of the press conference on FSW with Henry and Ferdinand. Ferdinand was holding one black bracelet and one white one.

While I am tired of the bracelet fad, shouldn't they make the bracelets HALF black and HALF white?

Headlines read:
"Aragones hopes to end racism in football - buys bracelets for all of Spain - 10 million white bracelets ordered"

Did he drift to one side when he was swimming? :)

And it's not that I want to put down the cause at all. God knows the cause needs some work with the things that are still happening.

he could hardly get his arm out of the water.

some kids have two of them and the will fall off in the water, so they wear them on their ankles. it looks kinda funny
