So if I understand correctly, the latest ticket grab (i.e yesterday's TST tix) did not have to do with the above and thusly I don't have to notify them in writing?

(Christ these people are confusing. I'd expect nothing less from the good people at FIFA)

if your credit card has been billed, i don't see any need to confirm in writing the confirmation email notice you may have received from fifa.

i don't think it would do any damage to check with them and make sure everything is fine. there is a good customer service center at fifa.com where you can check your order status and see if it is paid.

I'd imagine phase 2 will continue to run in this fashion until December when Phase 3 starts. but i'm not sure if there will be another period of available tickets, as I doubt there will be too many more non-payments or non-compliance with Fifa.com regualations.

But you would have to think that as teams are eliminated a limited (very limited) # of tickets would go on sale, no? Or would the be pooled into another lottery?

Either way, I'm already on the clock for one second round ticket (sadly, unless I win the lottery, I can't get the time off for future games)

And I think I'll have to stay away from Giants Stadium for the rest of the year. those NJSEA goons are so frickin anal, and the last thing I need to be is banned from a stadium as has had happened to certain fellow Metro fans and get my tickets revoked for doing not much of anything.

They said they were going to contact me a few days from the confirmation notice because I was going to wire the funds to them. (I'm being a nrevous nellie. Don't mind me)

It is my understanding that the re-draw only involved single-match tickets and that only the names of those people who 1) applied during the first sales phase, and 2) had not obtained any kind of ticket through FIFA as of the re-draw were eligible.

this makes the most sense, and seems the simplest to grasp.

the re-draw was a lottery for single game tickets. one had to apply for single game tickets initially to be in the re-draw.

the ticket-grab of available online tickets on 8/24 was a part of the ongoing phase 2 and for TST packages only.

From what I understand, the recent lottery of tickets -- the one a bunch of us got in on yesterday -- was done the same way as the first phase lottery, but was not a "red-do" of the first one.

You can read the details here:

http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/050824/1/4f0r.html

In short, if you didn't get tickets through the original lottery, or from this re-allocation of 40,665 single tickets, you'll have to try again in December.

It says that it is a repeat of the procedure used in the first sales phase

Crap. I haven't been on Big Soccer for a while and missed the news! Glad you guys got tickets but I'm still shut out. I had a TST request in for the first-round drawing and got nothing out of any draws they did for the second round. Craptacular news.

Regarding the bank transfer option for tickets from FIFA...

Anyone know how long it takes them to request the payment? My order was accepted on 24 August.

Thanks.

Alright, I just spent a while skimming through the thread. Trying to bottom line it for a friend who wants to go to Germany with me.

I can either (a) do more FIFA lotteries (seems about as likely as winning the regular lottery), (b) I can hope against hope that USSF lands tickets and for whatever reason decides to sell them to me, or (c) I can overpay with soccervacations.

Is that about the total of it?

Is that about the total of it?I'm in the same situation as your friend, and I think that's a good summary of the options at this point. If anyone wants to chime in with some sort of magic bullet, I'm all ears.

Tickets are also being sold on Ebay occassionally. There will be people trying to sell tickets over the internet (caveat emptor). And there will be people selling tickets at and near the games. If you've got cash and are willing to part with big chunks of it, you can go to any game you want. Retail prices, however, are for the fortunate few that win the lottery I'm afraid (and, sadly, I'm not one of them).

How concerned should I be about FIFA's effort to restrict tickets to the original purchaser. Does that make buying from a thrid party very risky, a little risky, not risky, what?

Also, is it true that FIFA are reserving tickets for sale in Germany to locals? Could I buy some through that source if I have "friend" in Germany?

Approx. how many people went to Korea? I have no sense if 8% of the seats will be enough to accomodate everyone who wants tickets from USSF.

I have no idea where else to ask this, so I'll throw it here.

I'm not a US fan and would like to catch a few World Cup games and I'm not too particular about who I see. A friend just announced he's getting married in Poland in June, so I figured I might as well hit Germany.

Now after watching games like South Africa/Paraguay in Japorea I assumed getting a ticket to watch say Uzbekistan or Guatemala or someone wouldn't be too hard. Reading this thread I'm about ready to give up.

Is everything through FIFA and the on-line lottery process, besides your gouging tour people? Since I'm so late in the day on this is there any way in h-e-double-hockey-sticks that I could get tickets through official channels?

Also I had a friend who went to a couple of games in Korea and she got ID'd with her ticket at one match at least. So I'm leery about eBay and scalpers.

Thanks for any help or advice.

cheers,

If you're looking for any game you can get tickets to, FIFA still have three more phases, the next of which begins in early December. That phase is a lottery type, so you'll have to just apply and see what happens. However the phases after that will both be first come first serve. I'm sure that on those days that each of these phases start on, if you're up at the crack of dawn, you should be able to snag something, just be patient and spend an hour refreshing the web site if you don't get a ticket at first. The little yellow ticket boxes keep flashing back and forth when the FIFA computer realizes a previous ticket transaction failed to go through.

So did I, but when I went to the bank I realized that I didn't have the "intended form at www. FIFAworldcup.com" which "needs to be used". My bank said they needed the postal address of both the beneficiary and the bank in Germany to wire the money.

But, upon going to www.FIFAworldcup.com, I realized that I have no idea where this intended form is, and couldn't find it. Anyone else find it?
